Steve at the desk was very nice. Also, the driver for the complimentary shuttle was very nice, too. In fact, one night, when I had no cash and just my credit card, he gave me $1.00 for the Coke machine. Additionally, the hostel is right on the bus line and about a mile from the closest train station, which the hostel provides a comp. shuttle to/from, so because of that, it was very convenient.

Staff was very kind with us and drive us every morning and evening between the hostel and the metro station. The hostel is a little far from Boston downtown but with metro station it's very quick and easy to access. The room was correct but very clean. Great thanks to David whom make us breakfast and give us a lot of information about Boston's activity.

One of my favourite hostels in the US! It is really unique and has true Boston character. The staff goes above and beyond for the guests and they make you feel like family. The shuttle is so simple and convenient, I felt like I had a personal driver! The hostel pub had a special on beer when I was there so it was easy to meet people in the pub room in the front. Showers were clean, free coffee and tea! I will definitely come back one day. Thanks to everyone, especially Gus! :)

This was the friendliest hostel I have ever stayed in. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful and nothing was too big of a demand for them. The facilities were good and the other guests were friendly too. There was a lovely atmosphere as locals also hung out there and were pleased to help in any way they could.

Boston is full of friendly people, none of whom are more friendly and helpful than the staff at Backpackers Hostel and Pub. I would like to mention Chris at this point who really made me feel welcome and is genuinely one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to have met! Cheers guys!

It's not far away from downtown, but it's a little far away from train station by walking. You can take bus or shuttle to the station, just need to wait. The room I stayed had very poor heater, so it was cold and the comforters looked crappy and thin. It's not a perfect hostel but ok to stay if others are full.

At first appearance this looks a fairly old, tatty hostel but it's actually fine. Clean, nice staff, large dorms and friendly atmosphere, with travellers who actually talked to each other rather than spend their whole time staring at their computer or smart phone. What a nice change! The location isn't great but it's reachable by public transport & there's a free shuttle to & from a train station every day. Also the breakfast could be more exciting than toast & jam. Still, I had a good time.

I had an excellent stay at The backpackers hostel and pub in Boston. It is a cozy Hostel I would recommend to anyone visiting Boston. I arrived at 5am Saturday morning and Chris woke up and let me in the door and found me a place to sleep until I could check in. And, he did it all with a smile on his face. He was extremely helpful and courteous and made me feel at home for my two night stay. He also did an excellent job driving the shuttle offered to Wellington station.

This hostel is way off from the center of Boston, you need to take the subway for more tha half an hour to just get to the nearest station, where you transfer to a bus or call the hostel shuttle service to get to the hostel. So if you don't want to waste two hours every day going in and out of hostel, don't come here. Despite the location, the staff were very friendly and nice. They provide shuttle service to and from Wellington Station, you only need to give them a call. No breakfast included.
