Room was ok but toilet was mixed and a bit dirty. If you like videogames there was a ps2 and a n64 in the common room to play with. Night staff were nice.

Best deal. USD32 for 2 nights for a single room . Everything was great except they only have 3 bathrooms. The tip is to wake up earlier & have a quick bath before the queue starts. I told the staff I had to go to the airport and they suggested train which takes abt 1hr, I said I took a bus here & it was just 30 mins. They laughed & didnt believed, still insisted train. So I walk to the JR station to realise they were referring to Kansai while mine was Itami. Came back & she wasn't apologetic.

Always a great stay!

The location is excellent, a minute walk from Dobutsuen-mae subway station, and just south of Shinsekai neighborhood. The facilities are a little on the dirty side and the rooms (and door locks) are sketchy, but no other hostel in Japan can beat the bang for your buck that Toyo offers. The staff are very helpful and speak English, and there's a nice common room and kitchen. If you're traveling on a budget look no further.

This place had typical small traditional japanese rooms. We were 4 persons and each had his room. It is very comfortable, and there is also a common room where you get to meet tourists and chat and play and.... And of course, the price was really good :)

Staffs were so helpful, even one of the elder staff couldn't speak fluent English, he still tried his best to answered my question. Thanks to one of the staff gave me additional information so I could discovered a very nice place to visit outside Osaka city area, lucky that he was also a fan of Tadao Ando!

Reasonable price for us to stay in Osaka!! .it is close to the station! I lived on first floor with double beds. It's ok and not too small. But i think the furniture are getting old and it would be better to replace some brightening lights. The toilets on first floor are quite good and new. And one of the shower room is new and nice! But the others seems old and hope that there will be more new and comfortable washstand and shower rooms.Overall is quite good to stay there with a very good price

Private room for 1.600¥, that's a really good deal. Mattresses are rather thin but still OK. Free water and very friendly and helpful staff. Showers downstairs are really nice, bathrooms on the top floors not so much. All in all I would go there again because you get good value for your money.

Would totally recommend. Staff were super nice, friendly and helpful. Facilities were excellent (shared hairdryer, shower gel/shampoo etc., a good washing machine and dryer available for 100Y, vending machines). JR station means you are well connected to other parts of Japan. There are 3 showers but only one is modern, the other two are old/worn. Like many places in Japan, the WALLS ARE SUPER THIN, so please be quiet & considerate of other guests if you stay here.

i have a nice stay. only that if the bathroom can improve a little it would be great.

You get a private room for hardly any money. It's right by the subway and the jr station and the zoo and the tower and the art museum and spa world (which is incredible). People are really nice, just takes a couple days to get to know them. The upstairs toilet is pretty manky but if you have a problem with it just use the downstairs one. I definitely am glad I stayed here, would stay there again and a couple of people have been living there a couple years now, so it's not bad.
