LOVED this hostel! Gave me such a great experience in Japan!

I really enjoyed talking with everyone here. My only complaint is that the bathroom on the second and third floor smelled horrible. Even so, I would still stay here again because it is a good value, you get your own room, and the staff was always helpful.

The staff was super nice and always ready to answer my questions. The location was great cause it was just off the JR loop lime so you could get anywhere and it was close, walking distance, to the center of the city! I would definitely recommend staying here when you go to Osaka!

Great cheap place. The average backpacker will find Hotel Toyo suitable. Not suitable for princesses.

Staff were very friendly, especially Yuji. Room was comfortable, and the location was great--right next to the local line and JR line. The communal bathroom stalls had a particular smell to them, but it wasn't noticeable anywhere else. Wifi was very fast, and the communal room had free coffee. On the weekend, middle school students came to practice their English, and they gave us breakfast, which Yuji then cooked for everyone. I'd definitely stay again!!!

Perfect place! Convenient location. 7/11 and supermarkets close by. Excellent staff. You get your own small room, very clean. Showers/toilets kept also clean. Good atmosphere. Easy to meet other people. 100% recommended.

Great! Wasn't the prettiest but it was clean, great location, loved the individual rooms, and wonderful staff! I would definitely stay there again!

For anybody travelling Japan on a budget this place is awesome. Whilst the room is obviously pretty small (single room) it's really nice just to get your own room at this price and not have the usual hassles of hostel dorms (although perhaps a little more umcomfortable than a hostel bed). The staff are really friendly and helpful. The common room was really cosy (facilities to cook, relax, watch TV etc). Location was also great. 20minute walk to namba, and about 5minutes to subway to airport :-)

On the train line to Nara, good accomodation. Friendly staff, spacious room, heaps of facilities. Short walk to the best okonomiyaki ever!

Fantastic hotel. The best I've stayed in in Japan. Personal rooms for the price of dormitories elsewhere, and a wonderful community and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Excellent quirky layout, very quiet and relaxed, with unique showers and dorm layout. Men's toilet was very small and could hardly sit down if you have legs! The wifi was also poor which was a disappointment and inconvenience. Lights in dorm room do not switch off till 11pm automatically which was a bit odd.

Amazing hostel really near to a JR station. The staff is super cool and friendly and the overall atmosphere you get just getting there is amazing. I've met so many interesting people there, backpackers and staff members each. Even though the rooms are small, you get a private room with excellent comforters and linens. I am totally recommending this place and if I return to Osaka, which now is a must in my life, I will stay there.

Excellent value and good atmosphere with excellent staff who are just amazing. Located next to JR line and lots of local places to eat and convenience shops. Things to improve on: 1. Need to be more toilets - only 2 main ones and this can be issue sometimes. The showers are excellent 2. I was on the 3rd floor and did not have a heater in my room and it was freezing (went in Feb). The 2nd floor rooms have heaters. This needs to be sorted, if you're checking in ask for a second floor room

You get what you pay for - very basic and not the cleanest of places, but good for the money and you get your own room.

Pretty dirty and in a pretty dodgy neighbourhood but close to train line which was handy. Staff decided to renovate the room next to me at 8am, power tools and all :/. Booked this place last minute because everywhere else was booked out and because it was super cheap. Get what you pay for I suppose.

good value for money: rooms simple, facilities (except of shower) are old, but all in all clean, if you just need a place to sleep, this hostel is a great deal. on top: friendly staff.
