Without a doubt the best hostel I have ever stayed at. I would love to write a full review on here but I don't have time and I don't really need to!

If you are a budget traveler then this place is your first option to choose. But if you have more money to spend in accomodation, then maybe you should choose other closer to the city. The hotel itself is actually very good to make a friend and community, but the location is very far from comfortable. There were many homeless people and the streets were quite dark. The hotel was very close to subway and JR station.

Great value hostel. You can get a room to yourself for 1600 yen; it's bare bones but private. Near JR Shinimamiya and not far from the red light district. First floor bathrooms clean; other floors could use work. Staff is fantastic; friendly and sweet. The upper floors are for long-term renters; if you're here for awhile, they're a good bunch to get to know. Helpful and practical information about what to do in Osaka is plastered all over the hostel, which is great for inspiration.

My room smelled like mildew. Tired to open a window to air it out but the alleyway the window opened up to reeked of sewage. Nice staff though.

Great value for the price. Provided all basic necessities and more. There was a giant spider in our room, but despite that the hostel was very clean. However, the surrounding area may seem shady to some travelers. The staff were very nice and helpful, and useful information about Osaka were posted around the place.

The only thing we didn't like in this place were the pillows. ;) The staff was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. For a low budget hostel they provide a variety of different extra services. The place is a bit of a mess for they are renovating (it to an even better place!) but it didn't really bother us.

Good and confortable location for tour. From Subway dobutsuenmae station , 5 minutes ( really close). And hansin train ( japanese old train) ' station is within 5 minutes. And JR " sin- imamiya " station is within 7~10 minutes by walk. And brandnew shopping place " abeno harukas"of JR tennoji station is 15 minutes by walk. i recommend to walk to abeno harukas wt tennoji and si tennoji temple. Its easier to walk. And. Room was japanese style dadami room wt tv and air conditioner. No refriger

This place is typically what you get for what you pay. Everything was basic but somehow, we were given everything that we needed during our stay. If you are on a tight budget and just need somewhere clean and safe to sleep, this is it! Otherwise, there's nothing special about it apart a pretty cool common room. Location wise, it's quite near popular places to go out. Their staff was really friendly and helpful. Thanks!

Exactly what all the other reviews say. Super cheap, small private room. nothing special definitely worth the stay though.

This is probably the best hostel I've stayed at! Individual rooms, but the price of a hostel. The rooms have internet and TV. The bathrooms are clean and easy to use. I really cannot say anything bad about this hostel!

Really can't complain for the price! Very clean.

Excellent price for a private room, friendly staff. Showers only on bottom floor. Located in a shabby neighbourhood with a lot of old drunks who p*iss everywhere and stare at you. They're harmless but the 'atmosphere' isn't for everyone...

Best value for money that I found in Japan. Was the cheapest place that I stayed, and one of the best, as the room is individual with plenty of space. Clean place, with nice common areas for the guests. Very good place.

It was good staying in Toyo, I couldn't spect more than this for this super cheap price! Totally worth it for me! if you want to save some bucks and you're not that picky with hotels it will be a good choice for you!

The best thing about this place is you get your own room for the price of a dorm bed!

1600 gets you your own small or medium sized room depending what you consider small. Doubutsuenmae subway station is half a block away. Around the corner are cheaper places and many people on the street who may.have a drinking problem. Seems like Osaka's skid row.
