Even though we only stayed here for one night it was clear that this was one of the best hostels we have stayed at in Brasil. The hostel is run by a family with kids and all, and its a little bit like a homestay. Big tv with hundreds of movies, HUGE breakfast buffet, nice staff, and great atmosphere. Our bus out of Paraty was leaving really late the next day, but we didnt have to check out early and we could use the kitchen to make dinner. It really felt like home. I would reccomend it to anyone

Really great option in Paraty. It's a converted house so very compact but the breakfast is by far the best I had in all South America, and is included. Also free wifi, a computer, and all very clean. Dorm is slightly packed in but comfortable enough with mosquito nets etc and a nice little garden and verandah. definitely recommend, thanks for a lovely stay! Very, very relaxing atmosphere.

I spent 3 days in the Backpackers House. I felt like at home, enjoying the day Pedro was very friendly and helpful. The location is perfect. Near the bus station and the grocery store. Perfect starting point for trips around Paraty. Great hostel!

This is a really nice hostel, it is a house that has been turned into a hostel in the last few years. The facilities are great, eg kitchen and dvd collection, and the owner made pizzas for us one night. There is a patio and terrace where you can chill out with other people.

Nice hosts, but lots of kids running around. The rooms got a bit hot at night, and the bathrooms didn´t seem to be cleaned regularly. Apart from that, it was a nice place with hammocks outside and a good kitchen.

When we stayed the owner was away so maybe its different when he's there but it didn't look like the bathrooms (which were tiny) were cleaned at all while we were there. It wasn't nice as a lot of people were sharing one bathroom. The bin in our room wasn't emptied either. Rooms were tiny and there is one central locker which made getting your stuff difficult as you had to find a staff memeber (not always around). Good location next to bus station. Good place to meet travellers. Cramped hostel.

Nice hostel with a lovely atmosphere. We made some good friends there. Great location right next to the bus station and a supermarket. Not far from the old town. We really enjoyed our stay.

Mama Pablo does a great job of making you feel welcome and at home! Breakfast is amazing and the dvd collection is awesome so great for those rainy days! Location is great as it is right near the bus depot and supermarket! This hostel made my stay in Parati very enjoyable indeed!

Great hostel, small and very friendly - very social as everyone hangs out together. Easy to organise tours and catch buses to nearby beaches. You can also hire bikes from the hostel. Great breaky too...first hostel to have real fruit juice (amazing!).

I great hostel to stay at in an amazing location. I am seriously contemplating going back for a few days to enjoy the nearby beaches more. Pablo is a treasure trove of information. His assistant is also great. Nice home environment to relax for as long as you can.

Good vibe. Nice and chilled out and probably the best breakfast we had on our 6 months travels. Rooms are a little warm but overall we liked it.

Everything was excellent and loved the ´family´atmosphere, my only minorly bad point was that the dorm room was a little warm at night.....
