Was a fantastic location, so close to the beach. Good crowd and a great place to socialize. The drink deals were a plus. The room was basic with no window so very dark and cave like. The thing that let this place down the most were the staff. A very miserable rude lady behind the desk who didn't want to help, felt like we were hassling her every time we asked for something.

overall an excellent, no fuss hostel. free breakfast is nice, rooms are clean, and staff are helpful (but usually busy). the adjacent bar was convenient (with a free beer/cocktail) and the location is great (truly a 5 min walk ~200m from the beach). bars & restaurants (all kinds of international foods- including indian & italian) along the walk to the beach. downside: no elevator and rooms on 5th floor... and be careful of the massage next door (wandering hands). not noisy even with the bar

Miserable stay there even though it was just a night. The bed was infested with bed bugs and me and my friends are now nursing the bites. HORRIBLE !

Great fun place to stay, with links to the restaurant and bar next door. Every meal came with a free bucket! Well organised trips and a short walk away from the beach. Staff could have been a bit happier, as most of the other reviews say! But good facilities and very clean.

Couldn't hear bar downstairs but at back of hotel. rooms clean. Dvd's limited and scratched so don't bank on using that service too much but lots of books to exchange. Also bus services very expensive if booked through reception, better off asking round the local agents for better deals.

This was a great hostel for meeting people. They have a really nice outdoor courtyard to chill and read and their bar is right beside it. The food here was also good and the free breakfast was great.Location is excellent (5 min walk to beach and directly beside all bars) I would definitely recommend staying here.

Booked a private ensuite room for 2 nights. I arrived 1 night early & was happy to take a dorm room that night, & go to booked room after that. later when i figured out the charge was lower, i found that they thought I would be happier in the dorm (as a solo traveller) & have already told the people in the private room they could stay longer..... What the??? & to top it off the dorm was a total dive. I didn't stay after 1st night even tho I'd paid. Stay elsewhere unless yr super desparate.

I was in the deluxe female room, and was deluxe. We had two TV, a computer with internet, fridge, hairdryer etc... all inside the room. But the lady in front desk... she should work on her smile. And they lost a pair of socks in the laundry... great breakfast!!

Great party hostel. Very clean and modern with good bar and restaurant. Only complaint was the $79 halong bay tour, for this price i would have expected some free drinks. Also why are we kicked out of our room at 7am when the ship doesnt return to port until 12....seriously annoying

This has been my favourite hostel in Vietnam - if you're looking for that real backpacker beach thing, this is the perfect place. People are really friendly, great location and great atmosphere. Staff were pretty good, its fairly standard cleanliness wise, and the security was average, but this definitely didnt affect my stay. I recommend the ladies dorm, ground floor (no stairs!) and much nicer rooms - still made friends with heaps of the guys.

Very disappointed with Backpackers House. The main receptionist knowingly booked us into a three part bus journey that was fully booked minus the initial bus, and let us embark knowing we could not get refunded once we had left Nha Trang. Confirmed through the company when we reached the second destination that the hostel FOR SURE knew it was overbooked, leaving us to deal with the losses and extra fees. Also, extremely loud at night so little chance for sleep, and rude staff all around.

Wouldn't recomend this to anyone. Our bus arrived @ 4am & upon arrival we were told to go & sleep on the beach!! I appreciate the staff weren't obliged to let us check in early, but the rudeness was unnessecary! Every time we wanted a shower, the bathroom had been locked from the inside so we continuously had to ask for it to be unlocked. The room was like a prison cell. We found a much cheaper, nicer hotel, with a better location literally across the road from the beach.

Staff at reception very unfriendly. Location near sea and in middle of restaurants etc. Good breakfast.

This hostel is centrally located near the tourist strip of shops and restaurants. The breakfast is OK. The private room was nice and sunny with AC, TV, hot shower. it is good value for money. Bar downstairs is quite popular. I'd recommend hiring a scooter and heading to the nicer beaches North of the main strip.

I stayed in the deluxe female dorm and it was very good. A big room with a nice shower, hair dryer, even straighteners (which I didn't use). It's a good location in that it's close to the bars and restaurants but it can be quite loud at night if you decide on a night in...

We enjoyed our time at Backpackers House. It was pretty noisy outside at night time, which we didn't mind, but probably best avoided if you're looking for somewhere quiet. Good to get the free breakfast and free drink, and staff were generally very friendly and helpful. Short walk to bars, restaurants and beach.

A great place to stay. Only a few minutes walk from the beach. Great staff, very helpful with my visa extension. It is on top of a bar (The Red Apple), but the noise is not so bad and quiets down late at night (but nothing to over the top). The bathrooms could do with a little work and always seemed to be wet. i think this was more the people staying in my dorm and so couldn't be helped. its one of those place you go to stay for a night and end up staying for a week.
