The rooms are dim and the reflection of light from the pink wall is not very comfortable for the eyes, or for reading. The lighting condition certainly hides any dirt or filth in the room nicely. I could only find out the ants on a piece of cookie after a few bites. No major problem otherwise (or hidden by the dim pink light).

The walls are very thin so you can hear the noise from the people in the hall. Overall it was okay, but we weren't impressed. However, the staff was friendly and helpful.

We took a double deck room; comparing what I'd experienced else where, I am really not impressed, somehow annoyed by the POOR quality of what I got at Backpacker's inn. Hostel is not for luxury, we understood; all we wanted was safety, cleanliness, and a good night sleep. Based on this, I do hope Backpackers' inn can try to invest a little bit more on better bed, mattress, and lighting in the rooms, until then, this hostel is off my sight. I backpack but refugee in Singapore.

kamarnya mungil tapi bersih. Sprei, selimut dan handuk wangi. Lokasi dekat MRT, begitu exit A langsung lurus, terus kekiri.Sangat mudah ditemukan. Sebagai muslim, menyenangkan sekali karena hostelnya bersebelahan dengan mesjid Jamae (Chulia)

Simply the WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. Singapore is expensive, but spend another S$5 to stay on other place. There are no rooms, just curtains separating then and it looks like the staff and local people stay altogether. Horrible feeling. Do you know that improvised hospitals in times of war full of beds and curtains? Yes, this place is like that. Horrendous toilets and showers. Back door entrance, beside where a Chinese restaurant dispose rest of fish and other unrecognizable things.

Smelled so badly of mold we could barely sleep. They provided a fragrance spray and we were constantly spraying it just to make the room livable. This was room 1 in building 27. Otherwise hostel common areas were clean and mostly quiet, but we had a lot of trouble with the washer dryer which broke and left us washing all of our clothes in the sink at 2am...

Staff are excellent. Even stayed up until 1am helping us get the washer working. With that said, laundry machines are very poor. The first room we had was great, but we switched rooms halfway through our stay and the second room smelled so strongly of mold :( so it's a crapshoot in that sense. We had a private room, which is in a building with all private rooms, so it was very quiet. The location is sooo convenient. Would have stayed here again, but the mold in the second room was so bad...
