Approachable staff. They attend to your needs immediately. Near everything - souvenir shops, restaurants, shopping centers, etc.

Just like what others commented. It doesn't really look like a youth hostel. People there are all lock-and-seal, it is hard to find anyone gathering in common area. Even though, It is still very full probably because of the attracting price. So, it is definitely a good choose if budget is your concern.

The staff was very cold and unwelcoming, no smile or trying to help. The bed sheet weren't even changed, facilities really dark and cold, no atmosphere at all. Location (heart of Chinatown) and safety are not too bad though, it is Singapore after all (for the safety part). Given the price you can't really complain I guess, can't have it cheap and good! But you can easily find better hostels nearby on the same street.

WARNING- this is NOT a backpackers hostel! I was the only backpacker there, amongst a bunch of older foreign men living there, while looking for work.. The atmosphere is very odd, and uncomfortable! There is NO privacy here, only curtains around a bunch of bunk beds. Some of the staff were nice and helpful while others were busy on their computers
