Good location but probably the worst Hostel I ever been. Room tiny, dirty and seriously bad smelling. Few bathrooms and showers bad located and pretty dirty as well. The front door should be close and be open just using the code the H give you but... it was open all the night!

the rooms and bathrooms were the dirtiest we had seen. the staff seemed very unhappy, but were helpful.

I didnt like the fact that you dont get a clean pillowcase for your bed - its the one that's been used by people beforehand. Pretty gross. Otherwise, the atmosphere was ok. Not sure its worth the price, but an ok stay.

Been in Australia 6 months And it was the most expensive for a double room and most probably the worst yet..very dirty, bad smells in kitchen and toilets disgusting..showers okay but dirty. No pillow covers on bed, no air con in very hot rooms. Fan in our room kept breaking down. It really can't be a yha? Good location and fast Internet.

I got locked out and couldn't get back in at 7 in the morning.I called the number on the door but no one answerd. Staff were rude

Older style building with lots of character. Rooms are not jammed packed and quite comfortable. Its hard in the summer with the heat. Good back courtyard and lounge room. Big awesome kitchen. Late night access is good - door code required. No good if arriving late on first visit. Showers were clean and working with hot water. Linen was supplied and clean. Excellent location - right in the heart of things. Security was ok - not the best though. Would stay again.

Well-I had read the reviews prior to going to Freo's Backpacker & to be honest if I had another choice I would have taken it! The room was dirty-the window could only open up about 4"-the common area was not cleaned very well,just improved a bit during my time. The kitchen was dangerous to be in with out of date & poorly kept stovetops. There was a lot of drinking, they played a movie everynight at 8 very loud & on poor quality equipment.The night access door was left ajar twice.

The place was old & dirty. The bed was horrible, the matress was old, thin and the "fresh" linen I got was not clean at all. After I left the hostel all my clothes really did not smell too good, so the first thing I did at the other hostel I was staying was laundry! You couldn't see the staff too much, lots of party people on the weekend who just wanted a cheap accomondation. I did not use the kitchen, so I can't say anything about it. Only 5 showers for all the girls but at least kind of clean.

A really bad experience. The place was dirty and noisy. The lights in the bathroom kept turning on and off when you where there. I even found mice in my room!! I only stay there because was the only place available and for sure I wouldn't be back again.

Good place to stay!
