Not great value for money and everything needs a deposit (parking, cultlery and plates etc). Good location and staff but weren't impressed with the facilities (e.g. Kitchen very messy and all communal areas packed even though we are off season).

We stayed here while going to the Blues Fest over the Easter long weekend and found facilities good and staff and fellow guests nice and easy going. The place was quiet by the time we got back at night as they close the common areas around 10. The room next to the main reception can get a bit noisy early in the morning though with people checking out. There's direct beach access, a bus stop across the road (which the festival shuttle buses also use) and 10min walk to town.

The parking permit was pointless as we had one and couldn't get a park, but everyone else who didn't have a permit got parks

Loved this hostel, so close to the beach and town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Really good hostel if you travel solo as it's very easy to meet peeps and have a laugh. I'll be staying here again next time I hit Byron Bay!!!!

I love this backpackers - nice and close to town and has a great atmosphere.

Great Hostel. Really helpful and pleasant staff. Plenty to do in and around the hostel and it's right on the beach. Love Simon on reception! What a babe!

Had to pay for the wifi, but it wasn't very good BBQ too expensive, you just got one plate No air condition Shuttle service at day

Super close to the beach!

Had such a great time here !!!! If I'm ever back in Byron I'll definitely be staying here again !! Great people , amazing location , clean rooms, huge kitchen and awesome nightly activities !!!

The front of house staff were lovely to deal with and very helpful. The hostel has all the facilities you would expect from a big hostel. Only bad point is that there is no free WIFI.

The location and staff are great. My only complaint is that the room was a bit dirty when I arrived even though most guests had checked out. Also the showers and toilets were a bit dirty too. Otherwise nice hostel!

Location was good 2 minutes from the beach. Communal area and toilets/ showers were kept clean but this is a very average hostel in my opinion having stayed in 40-50 hostels around the world. Communal area closes too early at night, staff weren't overly friendly or helpful, they make you pay for wifi ($10 for 24 hours) and if you want a plate bowel spoons etc you have to give a deposit and they get it back which I found more offensive than amusing. Average hostel would not recommend to a friend.

Right on the beach and just a short walk from the town centre shops and bars, this hostel couldn't be better located. The atmosphere was great, a real haven for surfers and both party people and folks who just want to chill in the hammocks. Would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone wishing to get a taste of the surfer lifestyle.

Its a big social hostel with great location and comfortable rooms/beds. You can party or rest and the staff is really friendly and helpfulI. On the downside, it does have to many rules, a bad quality weekly BBQ and be ready to pay extra for Wifi. Overall I believe this is a good option.

May want to ask staff to keep PDA to a minimum. Felt a little uncomfortable when the hostel driver was always making out with his girlfriend in the reception area.

Very average hostel, when i arrived one person in my room lost her key and kept leaving the door ajar so she could get in. 10 min walk from the town wasn't bad, but much closer hostels around. staff were pleasant upon arrival but when i left the bus transfer was late and the guy seemed more interested in getting food than providing the service to the bus station. Rooms were clean enough and bathrooms the same. For the price would have expected wifi to be included not an extra cost.
