Nice hostal, nice host, nice place. Omar will be available for you all the time to help planning your trip. He knows a lot about his region and trekking. I never saw a kitchen which contains so much equipment to cook. Plus, the breakfast is the best breakfast I ever had in my trip : fresh eggs, all sort of jam etc... and and... NUTELLA ! I definitely recommend this place if you stay at Puerto Natales.

The Kawashkar is a really nice hostel. With Omar who is around 24 hours the atmosphere is very familiar. There is a big table in the (very nice) kitchen what makes you never eat alone, also you're having your breakfast all together which feels like home. The breakfast in general is amazing and extraordinary for southamerican standarts t. I was so happy to get peanut butter, nutella and fresh eggs!! Omar ist very nice!!

A Must Stay in Puerto Natales Kawashkar is run closely by a charismatic and slightly insane man called Omar - he has made his hostel my best experience in South America so far. Rooms were clean, kitchen packed with everything you need and the vibe was one of the most friendliest I have experienced. Omar gives it his everything to make his hostel as homely as it is today. He can also equip you with all you need for the Torres. He even personally makes you an omelet for breakfast. Thanks Omar!

Loved this hostel. Great breakfast - Omar is a legend and can get you better rates for hiring gear for the W trek and his tents are much better than at base camp too. Don't be intimidated by him, he's a big softy and has a great sense of humour. Dorms are clean, have duvets and are cosy and warm like the rest of the house. Great spot for just chilling and watching a dvd. Defo go to Base camp for the free talk on the W though at 3pm each day. Would stay in this hostel again if I was back, loved it

We stayed here for 1 night before Torres Del Paine. Omar was relaxed and helpful when organising to leave the next day. He let us know where the meeting was, booked our bus and was able to rent us all the equipment. The equipment was great and really easy to use, we were also able to leave our belongings in a locker at the hostel. The breakfast was amazing and very filling prior to your trek. The rooms were very clean and spacious, only thing was that one room smelt of chemicals, great hostel

I enjoyed my stay at Kawashkar. Warning though, Omar is crazy! Ask him for a game of Fifa 12 on the Xbox, but be prepared to lose badly. Omar is a well of information about the treks and the navimag, make sure you ask him. Internet can be a bit screwy, but it is Puerto Natales, so I wasn't expecting that much anyway. Breakfasts are awesome, while laundry is expensive, it's the same price as the laundrette down the road.

This place was fantatistic. The owner, Omar, really wants to help the trekkers and he goes out of his way to do this. At 7:30 in the morning, he bustled me all around town to get to an ATM and a bus company in time for the 8am departure -- and he did it with a smile. Beyond that very random act of kindness, he also made sure that everyone was well fed for their day of hiking. Breakfasts were phenomonal. 3 weeks in Patagonia, and nothing compared to Omar's hospitality.

I think Kawashkar might be my favorite hostel ever (and I've stayed at A LOT of them). Omar is great; he is really willing to help you with anything you may need... How comfortable the beds are, how great the breakfast is, everything there clearly shows how much he values hospitality. I wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Best Hostel in Puerto Natales. The owner (Omar) knows all about visiting Torres del Paine or Trekking the "W". He'll help you planning and preparing for the trip. Further more this hostel is just a very relaxed place to stay and you feel right at home in the nice livingroom and kitchen. Also great breakfast!

This is the best hostel in south america. Best beds - the most comfortable mattress for a post-w rest, there are feather duvets and fleece blankets you will never sleep this well again. Amazing breakfast! He sets the table as if you're sitting down with your family for breakfast. He makes you your own egg omlete and there is both peanut butter and Nutella. There is coffee, unlimited bread (and toaster!). Omar is so so helpful with planning your trek if you approach him. Best hostel, we love Omar!

I enjoyed my stay at this hostel and will recommend it to anyone that goes to Puerto Natales. Rooms, bathrooms, kitchen... are all very cleaned. The owner, Omar, is quite a nice crazy character, doing the breakfast for everyone and managing everything. He was really helpfull for my trek on Torres del Paine and for a late book of navimag and so on. So don't do like lots of person trying first another hostel and then going here and enjoying their stay, just go here directly.

Great hostel. Very cosy and great location close to everything. The host was lovely and went out of his way to make us feel welcomed, and then cooked us a hot breakfast.

Warm and clean. Good breakfast. Be sure to check the quality of anything you rent from this hostel. I got charged for tent repair AND loss of rental when my tent broke on day one of my hike.
