The hostel is in a really good area near the ferry and therefore it's easy to go to Miyajima. The hostelstaff were always really friendly and helpful, but the atmosphere of the building itself is a little bit strange. No walls, only curtains to seperate rooms and the pillow wasn't that clean. All in all, I would recommend this hostel to others!
Stay here for two nights and it amazing, less than a 5 minute walk to the station and a 30second walk to the ferry to get to the other island (which is beautiful). The guy there was extremely helpful his traveled around himself and gives great advice on the best places to go and stay. They speak great English here too! If you are going Hiroshima for the war memorial best and cheapest place to stay only 30mins on the train and free if you have the JRpass
We stayed here as it was the cheapest option in Hiroshima, I think the reason for this is the location, it's quite far from the city centre (although it's only a 10 minute ferry ride from the beautiful Itsukushima island) although it wasn't difficult to get around from here. The staff were friendly and the facilities good, the rooms were fine, if a bit run down. Worth a visit, especially if you want to get up early to explore the beautiful Itsukushima.
fantastic atmosphere. Made me really feel welcome
Nice hostel very close to the ferry to miyajima, provides lockers and a nice common room.
Yoshi is a great guy, and is running a nice hostel. The location is excellent, and the staff are really knowledgable about area around the hostel and Hiroshima. Camping on Miyajima was so good.
Great overall experience - Backpackers Miyajima had a great staff and an interesting group of mostly friendly guests. I stayed an extra night just to hang out.

Located right next to the ferry to Miyajima, it's really convenient to go there, and it's really convenient to the train station for when you need to leave. Good wifi, computer available, showers and bathrooms in good condition, friendly staff and other guests. Laundry available. Full kitchen, even an outside grill. The male dorms didn't have a door, but lights auto-shut at 11pm and lockers were available (the womens' dorm had a door with a lock).
Small yet professional and friendly, thank you!
The staff is really friendly and you'll have a great time if you spend few days in Miyajima backpackers. We had wonderfull chat, advises during the evening while Yoshi was cooking delicious dishes for you. If you like to meet people and have few drinks sharing your travel stories, it is the place to go !
Location as a stage to visit the island is perfect. The town itself is a giant car park though so minimise your time here. The hostel is good, the co owner did some good burgers on the BBQ outside, desk staff exceptionally helpful, as is the case everywhere I've been in Japan so far!
Perhaps the most uncomfortable place I've stayed in; my bed was very hard and the "wall" between my room and the next was paper thin and did not go up to the ceiling. Kitchen small and facilities rather limited. Great location for those going to Miyajima and fairly close to the station going onto Hiroshima. Friendly and helpful staff.

The staff is very nice and it is a very good place to meet new people there. I really enjoyed my stay there.
It's basic and value for money. So if you just want a place to sleep at for a few nights, it's cool!
Friendly staff. Good location near the island. Good value too
Only stayed one night but didn't have any problems with the 20 bed dorm. The staff were awesome people and very helpful. Wifi was fine. Met some cool people there too. Backpackers is very conveniently located near the ferry to miyajima island which is really it's main selling point.
