By far the most comfortable hostel beds I've slept in. The location is alright considering its a 10 minute boat ride from the island, however I got fooled at first because I thought it was ON the island and it is not... However the staff were very very nice and the facilities were perfect. I would recommend this hostel to my friends visiting the island. Pro-Tip, get on the first boat to Miyajima at 6:24am if you want to get one hour free of NO TOURIST and especially NO SCHOOLCHILDREN GROUPS!!!

Very good place to stay !!! Good staff , clean place . It is quiete at night . Japanese mattress ... Try the party barbecue they make , it is very good deal and tasty ! Very well located if you plan to see Miyajima island ;). If you plan to see the bomb museum only , it is about 40 minutes by train . But Miyajima island worth it so you can spend at least 2 nights . Thanks for a good stay ...

I arrived and before I set down my bag I was invited on the hostel camping trip to Miyajima island! Wonderful, warm staff, I was instantly part of the group. Great modern building with balconies overlooking the ferry terminal! Less than 1 minute walk to the ferries! Great communal area! Wanted to stay longer!

The first impressions were poor due to the provisional facilities like the kitchen area and that the walls of the rooms are not dressed. But already in the first night it turned out to be a great place to stay. There`s a community, which I didn`t experience in other hostels, the nights are really funny and the staffs are always there for a really good chat. They also cook every evening. The location is really convenient, directly on the pier to take the ferry to the island. Have a try!

Great location, right next to ferry terminal to get you to Miyajima. Dorms are pretty basic. Only two showers.

Only spend 1 night in the so there is only a few things to say: 1-Commom room is cool with cheap vending machine ( Perfect) 2-Funny and helpfull Staff 3- If your wanna visit the Island ( Like me) there is no other better location but takes about 25 min by JR train to the Hiroshima Station + 10 min in tram until u reach center town. I liked a lot but next time i will look for a place near the central area, but is for personal reasons.

The miyajima backpackers is easy to find, the place is cleaned every day. There is a cool chill out room where u can add your own artwork and a reception/drinking area where you can meet other happy travelers. The staff are uh-mazing and informative on activities to do in the area. I will never forget My stay at backpackers Miyajima, and the friends I made. The Best 3 nights stay in Japan by far. Thoroughly reccommend it.

Great location for seeing Miyajima, right by the ferry and not too bad for seeing Hiroshima - 20 mins on the train. Miyajimaguchi is very quiet at night though - not many places to eat etc. hostel was clean and showers were good. Mattresses were a bit thin and lack of power sockets in the dorms, but overall ok.

Probably the funnest hostel experience I've had yet, the staff is very friendly, cooks dinners and organizes outings. There is a large lounge with guitars! My only real complaint is that the beds are VERY hard. Hiroshima is an easy 20 minutes away.

Location and staff are definitely its best cards. Just a stone's throw from the ferry to Miyajima (ideal for evening and night shots of the shrine without having to commute from Hiroshima) and with extremely engaging, knowledgeable staff who know how to make your stay happy. They also cook excellent dinner daily It would gain my top marks if they gave a fresh paint to the walls of the dorms but the character of the place, and the great staff, completely make up for that. This has been the only hostel I've stayed in that has a lights-out curfew. The only hostel that has a token system for the shower, which limits it to seven minutes (How do I wash my hair properly?). The walls are made either of raw concrete or plywood, so you can hear EVERY conversation in every room. It's the only hostel near Miyajima, and although it could be a lot better, it could also be a lot worse. Personally, I would stay in Hiroshima and just make a day trip to Miyajima.

Miyajima is not just the shrine! Because of that thought I first only booked one night, they ended up being 4 almost 5, lol. Make the best out of this place, combine the island, hiroshima and some hikking and cycling and at the end of the the day enjoy socializing with the backpackers crew! I felt Like home in this place!!!! Arigato O saimas!! And always remember it all depends on yourself. My best! Kampai

Very good atmosphere. Thanks for the entertainment at night. Very few places did that.

It was unlike any other place we stayed in Japan. The place had an army barrack feel to it. lights off at 11 lights come back on at 8 no switches which is a little strange. but they were located right near the train station and the ferry to the Torii gate so good if your just looking for a place to stop through.
