Property Information:
Situated within a ten minute walk from Newcastle train station, National Express bus station, St James Park home of Newcastle United, the Oz Academy, and The Tyneside Metro Arena. Newcastle Backpackers is also within easy reach of the cities world famous bars, restaurants (see lonely planet) and shops. It sits on Newcastle Westgate Road, the historical Roman road which follows the route of Hadrians Wall. We are ideally placed for jumping off on the Hadrians Wall walk.
Newcastle Backpackers has a family boutique feel and is much smaller than the nearby rival hostel in Newcastle. With a maximum 28 beds, we can still offer a choice of 12, 10, 8 or six bed rooms with a large chill-out room featuring plasma T.V., sofas, fooze-ball, X-box and wireless internet.
All of our facilities are brand new with individual bathrooms featuring extra large cubicles and powers showers. Kitchen facilities are available with tea and coffee making and microwave cooking.
Adjacent car spaces are available for hire and there is ample storage for bicycles. All public areas are protected by C.C.T.V.

This place was depressing. When we arrived a member of staff tried to overcharge us, despite booking through hostelworld.com. When queried a second member of staff came and made out as if we were in the wrong, then asked us to pay the correct balance in cash. We were shown to our 'room' where people were smoking, the member of staff seemed not to be concerned with this. The toilets were disgusting and broken. Charged for parking despite there being no sign or prior notice of this. Really poor.
