This was one of the best hostels I've staid at and the reason was that it really felt like a home away from home, not that much like a hostel. Athmosphere was very relaxed and laid back and all needed information was there when arriving to Mombasa for the first time. Leslie and the girls went out of they way to help with any issues or questions there were, thanks for an awesome stay, I'll definitely see you again!!

Had a wonderful stay at Backpackers Nirvana. A small hostel with a great feel to it. I felt more like I was staying with a family in their home than at a hostel. Lesley (owner) and her staff, Esther, Charity, Beatrice & Zac were fantastic. Very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely go back there if I return to Mombasa and recommend it highly to other travelers looking for a small, intimate and friendly place to stay. 5 big stars!

The owner Lesley is basically a patronising control freak - seeems to think everyone should be her friend.

The hostel is kind of hard to find. You definatly have to ask someone or get a taxi or tuk-tuk. The atmosphere was nice, for breakfast you get for example toast or omlett with coffee or tea. That was really nice. I think there is only one bathroom, so if there stay more then 3 people it can be full. Although when I was staying there we had no problems to arrange us.

the hostel didnt really live up to the great reviews. the owner was almost never there and while there was kind of fading in and out. forgot to provide bedsheets for the first night. wi-fi did not work. good location though and clean.

No hot water for showering might be the only thing we do not quite like about this hostel. I mean, after 9 days safari with dirt everywhere. Very clean, laundry is cheap, staff is friendly, especially the safe guard in the night. Perfect location, 5 minutes walk to the Nyali International Hotel. Beach is free for us although we do not stay there. No annoying beach boys. We had great time there.

Here one feels at home. Very helpful staff and good breakfast. Short way to beach and the terrace on the roof was very helpful for Scandinavians not accustomed to the heat of Mombasa

This is by far one of the greatest if not the best hostel I have ever been. Everything, like wifi and breakfast and safety lockers are all included in the price, and the staff is amazing! And the fact that the owner of the hostel is there for you all the time and organizes things to do at nights and helps you out on anything is just so uncommon and I will definitely return! The place is awesome too, there is a lovely rooftop to hang out which most hostels can only dream about.
