I overall had a great experience. Nirvana is a very welcoming place and has great accomodations. They include breakfast and coffee in your rate too which is great. It is in Nyali Beach, right next to a nice hotel, so security is never a problem and you are minutes away from a nice hotel beach and a restaurant that isn't too expensive. If you eat at the hotel, it's cheaper to eat by the pool too instead of the main building FYI. They are unorganized though which ended up costing me an extra 900 s

The dorm bathroom did not have proper hand-washing soap which was super gross to think about. Other than that, things were awesome and Lesly was great!

The stay at Nirvana was wonderful! We became friends with the staff, and they helles us out in many things like where to go in the town, where to eat, taught us Swahili and we had a good time together. The dorm was very clean and comfortable. I loved the common room, with kitchen beside it, where people can just hang out and cook food and have a cold beer :) I definitely recommend this hostel!!!

To all needy travelers - you cannot go wrong with Nirvana! this is the best place I have ever stayed in! It is not the most beautiful or the most equipped one, but as a package it is a home away from home and I dare you to leave it without leaving some part of you behind! The staff and the owner are the most amazing people, there is a beautiful rooftop on which you can sleep, swing in a hammock and feed monkeys! As for the practicalities - great breakfast, fair prices, near beautiful beach.

This place was pretty great. The owner wasn't present at the time but the staff were highly competent and welcoming. The place was well maintained and friendly and had everything you would need. The morning breakfasts and free wifi were a nice touch, and the proximity to the beach was a huge plus. Just a note that there was a motorcycle guy that hangs around outside who is really pushy, he is safe and won't rip you off, but he practically follows you around when you give him business once.

Nirvana was great! Such a wonderful place to spend one or many nights. Leslie, the hostel owner, was an incredible person. Always helpful when giving tips on places to go/things to do in Mombasa. The night security guard, Sam, is amazing. THE nicest person we met on the trip- he's a welcomed presence after a long night of travel.
