The Ostrich Eggs for breakfast were awesome, as well as the vouchers for the trips in the area.
A very nice property that is about an hour north of George. The kitchen is large and equipped with the basics. The front of the property can be noisy as it faces the main road and cars can be frequent between 6 am and late night. The main drag is about a kilometer away, which means you'll have to walk a while if you want to head into town. Overall, a good experience. Staff is great at arranging tours. Do the Meerkat Experience with the "Meerkat Man" as well as the Cango Caves for sure.
Nice place...very big. We got a private room with ensuite and it was comfy. Nice Common area with TV, sofa and tables and you can get a good valued meal there as well. The girls at the desk are pretty nice although the guy at the bar can be pretty obnoxious. Oudtshoorn is definitely a place that's better with a car as those without it have to stick with the tours offered by the hostel, at a price...
We had a nice stay in Backpackers Paradise. The location is pretty good : close from many restaurants and a small mart. In April, we could get a (non-free) breakfast. You can also get dinner in the hostel if you book it before 5pm. Room was clean and quite quiet (as for every backpackers place, there is always a good party in the common part ;) ). Be aware that the laundry is actually not inside the hostel
