Bookings must be confirmed by 1200 on the day of arrrival. This is highly unusual and also annoying given that a deposit has been paid and a cancellation scheme is operational by hostelworld. Anyway, this is a classic backpackers, limited off-street parking, big kitchen area, green pool. Staff can either be clueless or knowledgeable depends on who is on duty. The rooms were clean but proper maintenance is a real problem. The ridiculous locks have not replaced (see review 11 Jul 2011).

The reason for asking for a 12 midday confirmation is because even people that have paid a deposit through hostelworld sometimes do not arrive and we lose business.There is no way for hostelworld to recover money from guests as by law they may not and do not have the CCV no. on the back of the credit card.Hostelworld is aware of this but we are forced to make alternative arrangements regarding the confirmation of bookings. We are in the process of changing the locks but this takes a bit of time and we are on it.We also have had a change in staff so I apologise for the lack of knowledge of some of the staff, we will correct it.We pride ourselves in our high standards and I will look into the maintenance issue and apologise for that

Great hostel - lots of space. Bar and breakfast area are fantastic. Hugo at the front desk is awesome. Make sure to get some coupons to sites...huge discounts on almost all attractions.
