I love this place, originally I booked 3 nights but now 4 weeks later I´m still here & haven´t managed to leave yet.I think that says everything. the view from the bedroom is amazing, a panoramic view over the entire bay & excellent for checking the waves before going for a surf. the breakfast buffet is excellent, a great selection of fruits & fresh bread. on Sundays they even bake a fresh cake. the staff has been extremely friendly & helpful, without them it would not be such a great place.

So far, this is the best hostel I have stayed in during my time in South America. It´s great if you want to party but it´s also great if you just want to relax. The location is perfect next to the beach. The dinner is amazing and so are the staff! Everyone I met here have stayed longer than they planned, so have I. I can´t find anything to complain about, I would recommend everyone to stay here! I want to thank all the staff for a great stay, I will miss you alot!

Nice place, minutes from the beach with nice staff. Away from the party center of the island, so if that is what you're after than it's not the best. Great location though to chill for a few days.

Great hostel, Staff are perfect, they have an amazing cook, some of the best meals I had in South America ... Perfect location, great breakfast. It's quite expensive but they all are in this area. Thanks for a brilliant time.

Fantastic location. Big party vibe. The staff were constantly cleaning. Amazing breakfast, one day the staff made pancakes. Dinners were fantastic. Only (small) complaint, not enough bathrooms. Found ourselves having to wait several times.

I was meant to stay here for a few days and ended up staying for almost 2 weeks! The hostel is in a perfect location, Barra da Lagoa is a place you could easily stay for long periods of time, and the hostel has a great view of the beach. The dinners were delicious and most guests stayed for them, which meant is was easy to meet people and most of the hostel became quick friends. The staff were wonderful as well, always friendly and accomodating. It was hard to say bye!

We had a really good time, only not being able to bring wine into the hostel and being told off for that was quite annoying. Basically, if we book a hostel we don't expect to be forced to spend money on alcohol in their bar, that;s not how you imagine backpacking. We would have bought it there anyways, it;s just a matter of principle. Plus wine is not in stock you end up having to go drink it outside? Funny.

Backpackers Sharehouse was by far the best hostel I've been to yet. Amazing location, with a stunning view from the rooms. Very clean. Great, friendly staff.. Very informative about events, buses, tours and any questions you may have. The parties were fun. Really good breakfast. Best of all was the atmosphere. I would (and already have) recommend this hostel to anyone, and I'll definately go back in the future

The place rocks, it is red hot. Great street and beach parties during carnival. Staff are awesome and know how to have a good time. Def. a party hostel and the people that stay there are great and all there for the same reason. Was hard to leave and will return for sure. Do yourself a favour and check it out you will not regret. The chef rules and cooks the meanest feeds, BBQ chicken is best i have ever had. Cheap drinks and great bar overlooking Barra. Hit the beach by day and clubs by night.

Excellent hostel, great location and staff always helpful especially in the carnival period. Just a lack of shower and toilets!

Good hostel but the woman with the tattoos who works behind reception is useless. Plus for the expensive price you pay, there is no air conditioning and lack of bathroom facilities. The food is amazing.

The Staff were quite terrible. Surly, impatient, unhelpful, and just plain rude. Simple requests seemed like too much effort for them and we got irritated short answers or mumbling in Portuguese. The shower/toilet situation was woeful - a private room, a double and an 8 bed dorm has to share one shower/toilet which are in the same room in the dorm! And they were not cleaned. The general cleanliness wasn't great either which decreases the value for money as this hostel is $$$. What a pity.

Being able to just walk down about 20 steps to the river, jump in with a surfboard, float down (about 150m) to the river mouth surf break, makes this place very cool.

I extend the days here! Breackfast its awesome and free! Theres a Cool and nice staff, very good ambient, beyond we are of different countries and ages, we had a exelent ambient and common living. Hostel view its exelent: you got a preference's first class seat to ocean, morro and the Barra de lagoa's town. Location its great, just cross bridge to the bus , but keep on mind, its a hostel, the privacy never its the core; and bathrooms are god, clean but simples. Im thinking in come Back next year

My friend and I spent over a month at the Sharehouse and while we were there we experienced one of the best times of our lives. All the staff members were friendly, professional and always willing to help with anything. The hostel organises a professional chef to cook dinner four times a week and I have to say we never missed a dinner in the month we stayed there. The hostel is located minutes from the beach and seconds away from other hostels, therefore making the overall vibe amazing.
