It is the best hostel i have stayed in my trip during my world travel. They have a unique spot with amazing views from the lake. The bamboo bar at the pool is a great way to meet everyone staying at the hostel, as also the daily free caipirinha. They organize daily events and trips which are awesome. Make sure you go to P12 party, and jump in at the party bus, an american school bus that they take you to parties. On top, its clean, with great breakfast, happy hours, amazing helpful staff. Grazie

It's a great place to stay. Very near the Mole Beach, great infrastructure, beautiful place and thoughtful staff (except for the night security guy, who was really rude to some ppl of the staff and guests). GREAT BREAKFAST. However, there are not many options of food and they dont have options all day long. If you want something smaller like a sandwish or to have lunch at 6pm, you wont get it. The day trips are great, but never on time. I would stay there again!

The best thing about the hostel is the location! It has an amazing view of the sunset, it's less than 5 min walking from the beach and it's close to downtown where you find beverything. It's a pretty chilled place. There's always people hanging out around the bar, a great atmosphere to get to know the guests and have fun. Also another good point was that they have a party bus that take you to the best that is going on. I totally recommend this hostel and I definitely want to stay there again!

The hostel itself is beautiful! Lovely staff, the people are lovely and have nightly activities. It is a relatively easy place to meet people. However, with a lot of the travellers there staying for an extended period of time, I found it hard being a lone traveller staying for only a couple of days to break into their cliques. Also, they have two computers in the reception area and out of the two, only one works.

Fundamental issue - too many part time travelling members of staff who have taken ownership of the place and almost at times appear to resent working and sharing the facilities with other travelers. They are mostly hungover all day and waiting to get drunk again the next night. The actual area is rather lovely though, the breakfast is good and the local beach is excellent. I just feel have such apathy from the staff there is very cancerous for what could and should be an excellent place.

Great hostel but it's primary and most important concern is making money. All the activities were bumped up in price so the hostel could profit from it for example, tickets to shows, bus tickets etc. The way the hostel was run felt like boarding school, with staff constantly trying to catch you out with your own alcohol. Even if you bought a beer from the outside and put it in the fridge to have later outside the hostel it would be taken away from you. We left a day early.

This is a party hostel. It has a great location! It's clean and it's friendly. We were recommended to come here and it feels like a mini resort. Breakfast finishes bang on 10am so make sure you don't sleep in! If you like to party, surf and have things laid on for you, you'll love here.

Had the best time at this hostel! The staff were incredible. Management aren't too subtle that they are trying to make money from guests however other than that it was the perfect stay, would definitely go back.

It wasn't very clean. The bathrooms sucks. There's no where to place a towel when showering etc. The bedroom has a funky smell. The staff and the atmosphere was only so-so. It's a bit far away, you usually have to take a bus to go anywhere, return from the beach etc. The kitchen is okay, but closes quite early and is locked during night. They arrange activities and outings but only for those with a lot money to spend. Breakfast closes really early.

This hostel has the potential to be the best in Sth Am. However the owners/managers of this place are either lazy, arrogant or maybe just stupid. We along with many others were screwed around constantly with changing rooms and fed lies. At one point they asked us to check out and said hostslworld never gave them our booking. Aside from this it's an awesome place to stay in terms of cleanliness, common areas and atmosphere.

I had a great time at this hostel, probably because I was only here for beaches. A few staff members were wonderful, but some were very obviously hating their job there. They would bad mouth the hostel in front of guests which made me wonder about this place. WARNING- the 12 bedroom ensuite SHARES A BATHROOM with the 10 no bathroom. This means 22 ppl with 1 toilet and 1 shower. The view was beautiful but there were some issues- leaks not fixed, toilets plugged etc. A bit disorganized as wel

Fantastic location, awesome layout of the area. However, a lot of the staff seem like they didnt want to be there, which was a bit of a downer at times. Also, our rooms flooded and they didnt seem to do much to help out. Kitchen was useless. But an awesome place to meet some great people and have a blast. Would definitely still recommend, which says a lot for the place considering its aforementioned flaws.

Sunset Backpackers was awesome! Great location-walking distance to surf, sand boarding, and the lake. The best music and view were right at the hostel!

The hostel is very good, breakfast is awesome. They could also improove the cleaness, mainly about the pool, there was a dead bug floating on the pool on my last day there. What bothered me more was the fact that it's allowed to smoke on the only tv room there are. It's a very good tv room with comfortable seats and a good tv but there are always 10 or more people smoking there. Absolutely impossible for a non smoker to be there

We had problems from the minute we arrived to the minute we left. They succeeded on their task of foolin us: charged more for our stay without us noticing, we payed for a 10ppl suite and they made up a story so we ended up sharing a 22ppl suite without a discount. It was a disaster! They tried to make us pay for drinks, food and taxes we hadn't had. The place was smelly and dirty plus the staff could never solve the problems. I don't know what could've happened if we didn't speak portuguese!

Nice and helpfull staff. Toiletpaper was sometimes missing at the shared bathroom by the bedrooms. Wonderful atmosphere. The rooms need something on the walls to put your clothes on.

The view from the hostel is great, cool pool area and bar. But i've never seen such a disorganized place! I booked a room for 4 people, suddenly there were 5... they wanted to charge me more money than it should be... and one day the bottle of water is R$2. The other day is R$2.50...! It's crazy... The toilets are constantly not working. They have a lot of people working there and no one really knows what to do or how to do things around... I would look for another place.
