Excellent hostel! The staff was friendly, helpful and very understanding to letting us check in late due to a delayed flight. The airport pick up they arranged was a life saver at 11.30 pm, and they set up a cruise down the river. Would visit again! Only criticism: in the room the bathroom door had broken at the bottom leaving a 6in/1foot gap. Fine for us, but perhaps unpleasant if needing more privacy.

need to change the tour provider for the rice terraces. make sure the next guy has a proper licence and is not pulled over and has his car confiscated by the police.

We very enjoyed our stay in this hostel. It was easy to find and the landmarking were all very near. The room was clean and especially the stuff was very friendly, helpful and simply awesome. I worried about the cold since I read some comments about it. But they had heating sheets, so this was really no problem at all. I would highly recommend this hostel!

That was probably the best hostel in China I've ever stayed at! Everything was excellent.

Great, comfortable common area. The room was decent, with bed curtains (though they were falling down a bit). Very nice, helpful staff. Should post a map of the location - even the cab driver could not find it! Sadly, no access to kitchen facilities.

I really like the location of the hostel, it is conveniently located between all the highlights of Guilin. The dorms of the hostel are big and comfortable. The staff is very kind and helpful. The common area is a great and a huge place to chill out and to meet other travelers. All in all, my stay at the Backstreet Youth Hostel was worth the money.

They have a lot of facilities: bar, food, games, dvds, wifi, computers, heating-pads during winter in bed, big rooms, bike for rent But as the rooms were so big, air-conditioning wasn't able to heat the room fully. Probably it would be nice if they would install a more efficient one.

Honestly, the best youth hostel in China until now. The best is the staff. Thank you for everything.

Nice enough place, but the common room was cramped, and the guest rooms were freezing (in December), I had to move to a hotel down the street. The staff was very helpful, and it's a great location, just too cold.

The staff were very helpful and kind especially when I became sick however the dorms are cheerless, dark and cold , difficult when you are confined to them when ill.
