Nice atmosphere. The toilets bathrooms are in need of some kind of renovation...
Basically this is not really a backpackers hostel, more like a house for polish immigrants. The showers had no privacy and were not particularly nice. The rooms smelled of mildew. But the beds were quite comfy and quiet. But it was reasonably cheap.
My bed had bedbugs, the sheets were not clean. Really strange atmosphere in the hostel as there were no travellers there. Only long term residents. When we were packing up the police arrived to pick up one of the residents for questioning, did not get the accusations though. There were 2 members of the staff that were lovely and helpful, the girl that checked us is had no idea we were coming, could not find out booking and did not realise we were two.
This hostel is like a big family due to the fact that half the people live there long term so be prepared for cluttered rooms. All the people in my room were very friendly but there wasn't much room for my bags or any locks on doors or any lockers. Wifi worked well and nice big couches to relax on and good laundry and kitchen facilities. Location is near the beach and short walk to shops.
The only reason i liked it here was because the atmosphere. Most of the people in the hostel live there and the girls room was a bit of a jungle. The hostel did not feel really clean to me. The people who live there are verry nice though!
I stayed at Baggies for a few days and would say it's one of the friendliest hostels I've ever stayed in. There's a great atmosphere and really friendly staff. I was in an 18 people mixed dorm which I expected to be really noisy but it was fine (although I was coming in after a day of working and partying so I was probably in no fit state to judge)! As I occasionally had to do a bit of work while I was staying there I found it really helpful that the wifi connection was so good as well!
Cuz of the stupid uni housing office I nearly had to be a street sleeper for the first week of my term, but Baggies save my life :)

Baggies is a good hostel with a friendly staff and great atmosphere. It's located in a cosy old house and has all equipment a hostel needs. The rooms a very clean, they are not huge but there are tray to store the luggage under the bed. The location is great: next to the beach and also close to the shopping area and supermarkets.
Hostel was different to what I was used to but still enjoyed it. Many people live there permanently so the atmosphere to party and make friends is really good if you want that. Wifi was amazing!!!! The doors didnt have locks at all though which was odd. The location was perfect for all Brighton sightseeing and from coach station.
This is definitely the place to be in Brighton. The hostel is right by the beach, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The unique feature of this hostel ist that you feel as if you lived with many friends. There are activities and it is very easy to bond. The staff not only takes care of everything necessary, but goes way beyond that by organising night-outs, cook-ins and barbecues by the beach. So, if you want to spend a good time in Brighton, this is your place to be.
Baggies was a fantastic hostel, from the moment we walked through the door Ron and Alex were completely welcoming and made us feel at home. The facilities are good, with plenty of common spaces for residents and a better kitchen fit out than most of the hostels I've seen. One slight issue is that wireless does not fully reach all floors (but is fine in common spaces). Most of all though, the staff and other residents are beyond friendly, the amazing community spirit in Baggies makes the hostel.
