We went to this hostel in April and were the only people there. The hostel is lovely with great communal spaces. It is as close as you can get to the beach and is a small walk over a dune. The town is a 10 minute walk away and the bus station 20 minute walk. The staff were nice and helpful. There is a nice little kitchen for cooking.

I really really enjoyed my stay at Balconada Hostel. Santiago and the guys there are so friendly and travelling alone I felt welcomed into their world. They built the hostel themselves, it is clean and modern which isnt usually to my tast but I really thought it suited the location which is right on the beach. There are loads of beaches in the area and Santi took me and a few other girls from the hostel plus surfboards in his 4x4, a few of the days I was there. The asado is the best Ive had yet.

Nice place to stay. Well equipped kitchen, very good BBQ. Rooms were smelling badly. No locker room to store your luggage after checking out.

Great hostel with absolutely fantastic staff, so friendly and helpful. SUPER clean. Breakfasts were incredible. Bathrooms were good and clean, plenty for number of beds. relaxing areas were really nice and location was perfect, right across the road from a great beach and only 5 - 10 minutes walk to town centre. Would recommend this place to anyone.

This is a beautiful, modern, well equipped hostel with a great breakfast and friendly staff. Brilliant location tops it off, had a really great time here. The only tiny downfall was the room I was in got a bit warm and stuffy in the morning when the sun would shine in so maybe a fan would help. All in all, one of my favourite hostels ever :)

Steps from the beach. Beautiful bond-fire at night. This place is so cool the locals came by at night and everyone had a great time together. Met a lot of good people here and had one of the most memorable nights of my trip so far. Would definitely go back, highly recommended. Staff were good, bring cash (nearest ATM is far away) and if you´re using anything other than Uruguayan pesos, double check your change at all the nearby stores and restos. I almost got juped a few times. Great hostel!

Overall good stay for a night. The breakfast was nice with fresh fruit and sweet cakes. The decor and facilities were very cool and well kept. I'd only complain about the computer and internet access being a bit ancient.
