Very comfortable. Internet unreliable. Good walk from underground. Lamberts restaurant nearby is very nice and quite reasonable.

Quite a nice, clean place to stay. Breakfast was nice although there wasn't anywhere to eat it- we had to take it back to our room, which- luckily was only next to the dining room.

breakfast quality poor food left in containers far to long not replaced. Restaurant staff surly the staff member watched everything you put on your plate as if she was counting the beans. The bedroom could have done with a duster aroud the room. The cost was about the same as a hotel and the hotel would have been better.will not return or recommend Ballam Lodge.

The rooms are not soundproof at all, you can hear almost everything from the neighbours below or above or next door to you. And I found the beds not so comfortable, a bit old... Apart from that: very nice and friendly staff, price is good, location too (close to train/underground station).

Most things fine except that the waste water in both the hand sink and the shower was very slow to empty which meant that a second person could not use the sink or shower for at least 25 minutes

Clean hostal, a table and chair is in the rooms. Breakfast is really ok, but nothing special; english and continental. .Staff is very friendly and helpful. Transport to the centre: about 10 min. Walk to Metro and Train-Station, from the station within 15 min. to Victoria. We found it quiet acceptable. Reception 24 hours.

Very enjoyable stay at Balham Lodge. The staff were helpful, and the building is beautiful. Will be staying there on my next trip to London!

I had a terrible nights sleep, having looked forward to getting a good one having stayed with you once before. I was given the room next to the breakfast area. At 5.30am i was woken by someone moving around rather noisily which was followed by cupboards opening (cleaning equipment i imagine) and then all hell broke loose as people came downstairs and in fact i only got about 4 hours sleep. Somewhat dispapointed. Very noisy room. Could hear upstairs conversations as well.

A comfy night's stay. However, walls are incredibly thin which meant it was rather noisy.

We liked our stay very much, it suited us perfectly. The pretty room and excellent atmosphere (comfortable, fresh and cosy) at a reasonable price. Only the breakfast quality was way below our expectation : canned tomato and mushroom, sticky croissant, egg boiled hard. This could be improved on a lot without major cost or energy.

It was a very nice place to stay, not a lot of noise, nice staff and good rooms. So perfect i you don't mind a small tube ride to get there.

Gr8 place more like small Hotel than Hostel, in fact the word Hostel put me off initially but glad I did take a chance. Vey friendly staff, I forgot my jacket and a bag and the receptionist, italian/romanian lady called me to remind me and promised to keep for me until my next visit.

nice hostel, clean, nice staff. quite far from undergroud, and 10km from the city center - but was in good price. it was quite cold in bathroom - as there was no heating there. Anyway, I am satisfied, but next time will spend some more cash and stay closer to the center.

The first receptionist was grumpy, the second was very polite. The room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was terrible, It seemed as though the majority of the food was purchased at happy shopper.
