More like a boutique hotel than a hostel/B & B!

I was here for two nights and more or less enjoyed my stay. My room was a bit of an odd shape, but was comfortable enough. Bathroom facilities were ok. The breakfast was phenomenal, all you can eat eggs, sausages, bacon, baked beans, tomatoes etc, cereal, toast, croissants, fruit, juice.. I stuffed myself silly. Wifi is free and works well. The only real bad thing about this place is how far it is from the station. We walked all the way lugging some enormous bags - take my advice, catch the bus!

The staff were very helpful from our first making the booking and querying if there was car parking available. They replied promptly to my query. The place was very clean and well decorated and the breakfast good. It was a short walk or bus ride to Balham for Tube and Rail and in the other direction for Streatham where we were visiting family.

It is a fantastic B&B. I arrived quite early in the morning (about 8:30am) and they were kind enough to allow me to have breakfast and even kinder to have me in a room by 10:30, which was an upgrade to a beautiful double room. Additionally, Balham is quite a safe, clean area, with parks, a supermarket (Sainsbury's), pubs and a tube stop about 12 or so minutes walk away.

A B&B that comes with a bang for the bucks you spend.

I thought the Balham Hostel excelent in all aspects. It's very well located, in a safe and quiet place and near the undergraund station. The work of the staff is very efficient and friendly.I play to stay in this hostel when I return to London. Thanks for everything.

Room was nice and clean. Beds not very comfortable. Very thin walls and no sound-proofing. Breakfast not very impressive. Staff were grumbling when we showed up for breakfast at 10.20, even though they're supposed to serve breakfast until 10.30.

Cleaning lady was very persistant when banging on the door even though I asked her to wait while we were getting dresses. The reception staff was nice and helpfull though.

This small hotel was ideal for us as it is close to our daughters home in Balham. the rooms &all the guest areas were very clean and tidy. The breakfast was excellent with all one could ask for. We used 2 rooms - the first was a standard near the main entrance and we were woken by guests or staff coming in at 1a.m. and talking for a long time outside or near our room. The room was small but OK but the ensuite was minute. The deluxe room we had was excellent but did have some traffic noise.
