Homelike hostel, too many people for the space. Nice atmosphere though. Enjoyed it for a week. Best thing is that they have a garage for your car.

Upon arriving after office hours, we were greeted by a night-shift manager who appeared to be and acted stoned. A fire alarm sounds each time the front door is used, which is frequently, and is loud enough to keep waking those trying to sleep throughout the night. The whole place has a dingy, shady vibe to it. The location is far from the central tourist areas. Young, disrespectful backpackers partied throughout the night and would not move out of the hallways when asked. Bad choice.

Hi The night guy wasn't stoned he works early mornings and waited up for your late arrival. Sorry for the noise. It was a public holiday for ANZAC day. I think you may have had a nice time if you didn't leave the very next day. The full induction that you would have received would explain that the back door is for entering and exiting the building. The front door which beeps when its left open for the security of our guests. The bus is 6 minute to the city center.

Smelly, dirty and small rooms. I had to be careful to literally place my food in a safe place otherwise other people kept on stealing it. What's more no one was cleaning its own dishes.

The good: rooms are decently clean, the area is nice and the hostel has a bit of character. The bad: they offer free breakfast, a free bbq on sunday and free wifi. The breakfast was non-existant most days, the bbq never happened and the wifi rarely worked.

The Free 24hr wifi can slow down when too many people get on and stream or download. We ask that back packers not do this. The breakfast is Free raisin toast every morning in both kitchens from 9am. We do have a Free BBQ every Sunday for lunch, I'm sorry about your Sunday I was taking a guest to the hospital for a broken ankle (soccer game) It's the first BBQ Ive missed in 3 years. My apologies.

Enjoyed our time here, nice staff, beds were comfortable, extended our stay. The laundry is only 2 dollars and the dryer is free. The internet is really good and would stay here again! Enjoy!

The best hostel atmosphere I have found on three continents. Family atmosphere with a lot of long stays. Being outside of the city means it is quieter at night and you get to see another great part of Sydney.

Great location! The backpackers is only a few minutes out of the city, but far enough that the surrounding suburbs have a quieter village atmosphere to them. The crowd was really friendly.... think i added about 50 new friends to my facebook account! It's certainly given me more places to stay all over the world!!!

If you don't want to spend to much, this hostel is Ok. It's 5 minute by bus from downtown but you must take the bus (around 50$/week). The better room is the 10 bed dorm because the other rooms are very close to the kitchen and the living room so it's very very noisy at night ! The WI-FI works very well in the garage but not upstairs... To conclude, it's cheap but don't expect too much.

This stay was not horriable out of all my hostels.com. And I have been hostels.com for a while. I only stayed their 8 days. Where I was forced to buy 10 days. I told the front desk I was staying that long. They told me that they would reimburse me for the 2 days back on my card. WTF! They didn\'t even acknowledge me. Yet I stayed their 8 days. And forceing you to buy 10 days where you only stayed 8 days, was crazy. I would like them reimbursed me for the 2 days that I didn\'t stay their!

Hi Karl, You booking was for Christmas and NY that's why there is a minimum stay of 10 nights. These are the conditions everyone agrees to when they make a booking including yourself. Conditions stipulate no refunds on accommodation. Sincerely , Kristy

It was way too small and way too dirty. I couldn't cook any meals because there were no utensils, nor any pans or pots. The toaster didn't even work. I really didn't feel comfortable in the hostel because it was so small. I couln't even ask the reception because there was no reception. It's not a bad thing that the hostel is far away from the city because the busline is pretty good. It's also not a real bad thing that the hostel is so small, if they didn't have so many beds in such a small room
