Great place to stay. All the outdoor and extreme activities at your finger tips, good food, good club, good amenities, and the staff was exceptional. Owen.

I enjoyed the short time I had here, but I would NOT recommend this to families - which we saw a few of there. It's really loud and has a good bar and there's constantly people hanging around which is good, but I just felt bad for the families trying to get sleep. Overall it wasn't a bad stay.

Walls are thinner than paper and you can hear anything and everything that is going on many rooms away. The showers don't drain nearly fast enough to keep up with the flow. You have to keep pressing a button to get 10 seconds of water which fluctuates in temperature the whole time. Breakfast is good: toast, cheese, and cereal.

This place was so awesome! They had everything you could want right in house including laundry machines. Staff was wonderful and they had breakfast included. It was nice to have a game room/bar/club/restaurant all in the hostel. Stay here if you can it rocks!

The attitude of a particular staff is not very nice and she has made mistake in the billing twice for the hotel room and the things that was bought. Generally, the place is nice, well equipped facilities and provide good service in terms of providing information. A small comment on the shared bathroom as it is not very convenient for ladies as there is a opening in between two bathroom.

This hostel is very far from the train station, about 20mins walk! Not really ok if you have luggage. There's a big gap on the wall between 2 shower cubicles and people can see you easily - not ok since there's no gender restriction. Shower head is not rotatable and fixed too close to the wall, plus the water jets are so strong till it hurts. And I didn't like the fact that you get charged for depositing luggage - CHF5 for 6hrs, CHF6 for 24 hrs. The only hostel that charges so far.

Super neat little hostel. Lots of character, they even had laundry facilities. Good breakfast and they will even set you up with activities like skydiving and stuff. You have to pay to lock your bags up and the lockers are nowhere near the rooms so kind of inconvenient. Overall a great experience and really friendly staff.

Thank you Breanne, unfortunately given the size of so many lockers it was the only place in the hostel we could put them- happy you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back! :-)

The best thing to do, to make people happy, is to give them the room they actually reserved when your guest arrives. Or, if it's not available, and you can see that the person is unhappy, tell them about the "guesthouse" that's available, instead of pretending that there are no other options. Then, When the person decides that they don't want to spend one more night there, don't pull the "sorry, 24-hour notice" card; and don't do the sarcastic "Have a nice day" when your customer leaves angry.

Thank you for your feedback, would have managed to rectify any situation if you had spoken to reception after your first night or spoken to reception straight away after being shown to your room. Alas, after two nights and three days here nothing we could have done would have changed your mind set. We hope you enjoy the rest of your travels.

Balmers Herberge is everything one could ever want in a hostel. In addition to the picturesque location, Balmers also boasts an extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff, clean, cozy rooms and even a night club right down in the basement! It is a tremendous value for your money, and I would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Interlaken, especially those who are on a budget.

We came to interlaken for enjoying 1 day of mountains, great air and sport (canyoning)! And we found all 3, and balmers is the perfect place where to crash over in the night! Clean, safe, young envoronment, frendly management and excellent organization (swiss!) . The room was cozy and the shared bathroom was always clean ! Also the breakfast, symple, few choise of muesli, breads, jams, milk, cheese but good quality of the product and good presentation of the food!

We had so much fun here and the staff was BEYOND helpful!! The first night we were able to make dinner in the kitchen and save a ton of money in Switzerland. Huge fan!!! Totally stay here. There's also a bar right below it called the metro and it was so convenient and a ton of fun.

If you have a lot of staffs to carry, hob on the bus number 104 or 105 (depend on which train station you get off). The staffs are very professional. The place is like a complex where you can find a lot of things to do. You can also book other outdoor or sightseeing activities with the hostel. The breakfast is excellent. There is also a lovely little souvenir shop. There is free Wifi at the public space.

no lockers in the rooms, only pay lockers outside. pay lockers were not daily, they were by the hour and very expensive. the hostel is over a night club and is very loud at night. it is great for those looking for a late night and a louder atmosphere but not as much for those older or families. staff was great, helpful, and English speaking. rooms were clean and other guests were respectful.

Perfect combination of party and sleep (if you are getting up early to ski or hand glide or whatever). The night club had theme nights while we were there. The staff was great and sign you up for whatever activity you wanted. Stayed on a saturday and sunday night. Sunday night was a lot quieter than saturday night. Great location nothing bad to say about this place at all.
