This place was awesome! Staff was great, and the desk was great! You could sign up for extreme sports or buy tickets for train to Jungfrau, etc. The showers were a bit annoying because you have to keep pushing the button every 30 seconds, but its was perfect otherwise. Free breakfast in the morning as well!
Interlaken is magical, but made even better by balmers! A friendly staff and amazing set up. Metro is so much fun! And there are a ton of like minded travelers to meet while there. Definitely a must on your european adventures!
Room was clean but smelled like old socks, besides that fairly clean for a hostel, quiet and safe. Would recommend, just do something about the smell.

Had a great time in Interlaken and the staff were really helpful and generally knowledgeable about the area, though sometimes they seemed to answer the phone as a priority to those waiting, but otherwise friendly. The lounge area was good, but because you go down to the bar from it, it was hard to watch movies or have a quieter hang out space without loud drunk people running through it. Showers are push button and take a really long time to get hot water.
Frendly place to stay!

We had a great stay at Balmers. The staff were very friendly and helped suggest things to do as the weather wasnt great. Our private double room was fine. My only dislikes were the showers and I think the kitchen could be improved. Enjoyed the breakfast too. I would recommend this place!
Enjoyed our stay here, the bar downstairs is really cool. Kitchen facilities were excellent and beds comfortable! Only downside was that you had to pay per hour for the lockers downstairs, but felt safe leaving stuff in the room anyway. Also the free breakfast was a great addition!
Comfortable rooms, a lot of common areas, a mini underground club next door. Simple and decent breakfast. Unfortunately, there isn't alternative dinner options for healthy eaters. Good kitchen with everything you need, supermarket a few minutes walk down the streets. Nice and approachable staff. I will be back to stay in balmers. It's lovely!

Balmer's staff is awesome. Very friendly, welcoming, patient and fun. The atmosphere was great, very laid-back but have great parties at night in their underground bar/club. Interlaken is a beautiful place to go and visit, and Balmer's helps add to that great experience. I would go back in a heartbeat.
Great hostel, great atmosphere, great burgers, great breakfast, helpful staff, comfy beds.
Balmers was great. They had a bar, kitchen, reading room, game room, hammock room... The only problem with the facilities was only a few showers worked properly and there was only 1 electrical outlet in our room of 6. It's about a 15 walk from the train station. Pretty good free breakfast with yummy Swiss cheese! I would stay there again.
This hostel is probably the single most sociable I've ever stayed at. My room was fantastic, made completely out of timber and had great views of interlaken. The location is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre or inbterlaken ost. The hostel had all the facilities you could really want and even has it's own night club downstairs. Its also easy to sign up to activites from the reception. The staff were also generally cool. Showers were good but could be better. Apart from that it's great!
Balmer's was my hands down favorite hostel of my 2 month trip. The breakfast was the best I've had the entire time and the staff and bar was awesome. Really easy to meet people and a lot things to do around the hostel. Small kitchen but it didn't matter. Ideal stay for a backpacker.
great party atmosphere, delicious food. no lockers in rooms and incredibly squeaky bunks and floor made leaving dorm discretely impossible. would go back
This is likely best Hostel I stayed in during my two week trip. Great staff and really fun atmosphere.
Great atmosphere, wonderful location, the bar was a lot of fun and the happy hour deal was great. The rooms themselves are hit or miss - some 8 bed dorms are spacious, but the one I was in had only one plug for 8 people, and 2 of the bunk beds were really one structure, so your mattress was completely touching someone else's with no sort of barrier between them or any way to push them apart. It was essentially sharing a bed with a stranger. Still a great place though!
A strange hostel as it had some excellent attributes but unfavourable factors too. I'd recommend this place but there's a few issues I feel it could improve upon: the mattresses were made of sponge, the upper bunk seems to be designed for agile folk, lack of partition between beds (could've been weird if I wasn't sleeping with friends) and an inadequate amount of sockets for an eight-person bedroom.
The metro bar downstairs is good, the showers are a little outdated but all round good hostel!
Best hostel in interlaken, with the best hamburguers!
