Bamber House

Bamber House offers you a range of accommodation choices in our huge colonial home. If you are a scenic enthusiast you will be in the ideal area with MOUNT EDEN just a five minute walk away, where you can view Auckland from above. We are also just a short distance from a host of restaurants, cafe's, bars and supermarkets. If you want to visit the City Centre you can catch the bus which leaves every ten minutes from just outside the hostel.

At Bamber House our helpful staff aims to provide you with a friendly and clean environment. You can choose from double & twin rooms or shared rooms with 3-6 people in them. All beds are made up with fresh sheets and duvets for your comfort and convenience. We also supply you with FREE towels on request.

We have FREE car-parking on site, a log fire and lots of heating in winter. We also provide comprehensive information on travel and tourism in New Zealand as well as casually entertaining guests with optional activities such as movie nights, $5 meals and quiz nights. We also organize a unique themed meal for our guests one Sunday in every month. 'Foodies' can additionally enjoy our range of FREE herbs and spices in the kitchen and FREE use of the BBQ facilities. For those of you interested in keeping fit Bamber House has special deals with an excellent gym and swimming pool just a few metres down the street. There is also FREE access to tennis courts opposite the hostel.

Bamber House has consistently rated as one of Auckland's top hostels. In 2011 Hostelworld rated us as the 2nd Best Hostel in the whole of New Zealand and according to Lonely Planet 2002 we are 'easily one of the most comfortable and impressive hostels in the city'.

You will find that Mt Eden is a great place to set out and explore Auckland from Bamber House will feel like a home away from home.

The office is open from 8.30am-8.30pm and outside these hours you can to contact us to make other arrangements. Children under 17 cannot be booked into shared rooms with other guests. We cannot accept children under 5 years.

Check out time Is 10am and Check-in time is 12.00pm but we will do our best to check you in early if availability is there.
