Bamber House is located just far enough out of the city center to be quiter then the big centeral hostels but with easy to follow bus routes you will never have a problem getting into town. The staff are the best i have incountered on my traveles and while the kitchen is sometimes busy it is allways clean.

Steph & Steve are awesome managers at this hostel, cater for your needs in whatever you require. Extremely clean, friendly people, very social place, located in a perfect place and only 5 minutes on the bus to the City Centre or 30 minute walk (which is a nice walk). Tennis courts at your disposal across the road and very cheap too.

Chilled atmosphere and nice, easygoing people. Everything is very clean and cosy and the stuff will help you out anytime, always with a smile on their face. You can lock your food and luggage, but people and stuff are trustworthy anyways. Laundry is not the best though, only cold and short. Definitely one of the best hostels. If you're looking for something quiet and relaxing with a little bit of home-atmosphere, this is the place to be.

This really is an amazing hostel. I have never felt more at home and as comfy. The manager Steve does a great job and keeps the house really clean and tidy. The location is great as it is close to the city but just enough away to be in a beautiful area. I will definately go back to Bamber House on my journey home.

A great hostel run by a great host. Steve goes out of his way to make you feel at home and get things sorted for you. I stayed there for five days at the beginning of the month and will be returning at the end as I loved it so much. Would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Auckland.

Very good hostel, in a big house and it feels just like home. not in the citycenter so it's quiet, but easily accessible by bus (15minutes from the city center). The staff is really friendly and helpful, and the house is clean and safe. would definitely come back!

Beautiful location, but a little far from the downtown area or Viaduct if that is what you're interested in. Helpful, friendly staff that is almost always available. Patio in the back serves as a great place to have a few beers and get to know everyone you're staying with. We will be traveling back to Auckland before we leave and hopefully staying at Bamber again.

This is the best Hostel that I was staying in my holidays (NZ and Australi). The staff is very useful, because they give you a map with iimportant information about supermarket, buses and everything.. Very good place to stay.

We stayed in a bach for two people. A bit expensive for what you got. Beds a bit old & small space. A little bit more money & we could have got a motel. Nice and clean though.

Claire was extremely helpful when we first arrived. Our room was very clean and tidy and the other guests were fun to meet. We'd recommend Bamber House unreservedly - even for oldies, like us!
