We stayed in the double room with ensuite bathroom, and found the room excellent. It was great to have a water kettle and a fridge in the room.

It has everything a backpacker should have, the kitchen is large and clean, sufficient fridge space. Dawn is very helpful. The double ensuite we stayed is new and clean, the bed is a little small. Bus in front, 15 mins ride to CBD at $1.8. Nearby Mt Eden is ok to see although cannot compare to the volcanos & craters in Rotorua & Tongariro. Dominion Road (CountDown Supermarket on it) has plenty cheap but yummy Chinese places.

A really nice house to stay in, feels very homely. In a great location on Mt Eden only a 5 or 7 minute bus ride from Centre and benefits from really amazing views from the top of closeby Mount Eden. The house is very nice, it\'s a shame the beds are so creaky even in the slightest of movements!

Best thing was how quiet it was and got a great nights sleep. No rowdy people or traffic noise.

I thought the % rating I would give for this place would be better but I double-checked my ratings and I guess it's 77%... It's a very nice hostel with excellent common areas. Avg. security because there are no lockers in the rooms and the ones you can use are small in the kitchen (which was just fine for me). The staff is REALLY helpful and friendly and helped me tackle some research stuff - But they are frequently not around/available. And it's in a random residential neighborhood.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi there, thanks for your feedback. I just wanted to clarify that the staff are always available between 8.30am and 12pm and 1pm and 8.30pm. If we are not in the office we can be contacted by calling us free of charge on the hostel telephone as all guests are advised on arrival. It is not possible to be always in the office as laundry and other tasks have to be completed during the day. The hostel is located in a leafy suburb at the base of Mt. Eden volcano, 15 minutes walk from two commercial areas and 15 minutes by bus from the city centre. Hope your meeting went well.
