Nice small hostel, more like a small town hostel than a big city one. Very quiet when I was there with only a few people ever in common areas. No lockers and not enough toilets/showers my only complaints. Would stay again
Banana Bender Backpackers was a great stop for me in Brisbane. The staff were incredibly nice, and the atmosphere is really great - really good for meeting other backpackers. The outside deck is GREAT! Rooms and bathrooms were kept clean - the kitchen was a tad small but otherwise a great stay!

SMALLER HOSTEL WITH AN AWESOME NATURE FEEL TO IT, FACILITIES ARE IN MINT CONDITION, KITCHEN IS SMALL BUT ENOUGH, LOCATION A BIT FAR FROM THE CITY, CLOSE TO THE GROCERY STORE, PEOPLE MINGLE A LOT, LOTS OF LONG TERM STAYERS, THE OWNER CHRIS IS GREAT. TOP 3 HOSTEL IN BRISBANE AFTER STAYING IN 12 OTHERS HERE.
Decent place. Staff were helpful when engaged. Not a very nice atmosphere as nothing is ever organized within the hostel for everyone. Showers are poor, and the Internet you pay for is not great. Most surprising thing is long-term people in the rooms are not asked to clean up, and simply take up every inch of space you'd hope to store your bag or clothes. Kitchen is very small as well, making it difficult to keep more than a day or two worth of food in the fridge.
