GREAT hostel! We've been traveling for a while now and we've stayed in lots of hostels but this one is definitely the very best. We made great friends during our stay here. No other words to describe it, we miss it already.

Loved it here, this hostel really spoils you with it's free tours. If you say there for a week you get to do all of them, and meet a bunch of new people everyday too. The pool table was really fun as a chill activity after an exhausting day if hiking or swimming or whatever. Just overall a great place to be.

The hostel itself was not bad at all. Like most hostels, it can get loud late into the nights. The highlight of this hostel is the fact they have daily tours. The Haleakala tour fills up quickly, and is likely the only one you might have trouble getting a spot in. They had both public and private bathrooms/showers. The only bad thing is the hostel is not in a good location. Buses can get you to the good places. There are no lockers in the rooms, so I felt security was lacking a little.

AMAZING. The free tours are priceless, and with amazing tour guides. Authentic. You could not pay any amount of $ to any company on that island to give you as good of a tour as they did. Clean, family like atmosphere. Everything is super chill. Room was clean. Common areas were awesome, very native. When I come back to Maui, Banana Bungalow is where I'll be staying!!

Worst experience I have ever had with lodging. The street out front, a sidewalk width's away, was used as a race track by every noisey vehicle known to man. I got no sleep at all. The bathrooms were very small, wet floors and messy sink area. I was offered another room away from the street. I turned it down and left. I was told when I registered that once checked in I would receive no refund. I was a bit curious about this policy, but after the horrendous night I had, I now understand it.

My sister in law and I stayed in a private room. It was very clean and pleasant! The hostel is right near everything and in a cute part of town. The walls are a bit thin but the quiet time from 10-10 allowed us to be in bed early to get up early and adventure! We were able to do our own thing aside from partying and others were able to enjoy party-times in the back patio without disturbing each other. Great hostel!

The hostel is not in the best location but offers great daily tours! If you consider the free tours, you get great value for the price! Only really negative thing: there are no lockers in the rooms!

Had an amazing time here. Highly recommend it. Great people. Great times. Although the location isn't amazing, they offer a different free tour every day of the week. Awesome tours!! You get to go all over the island. We rented a car so transportation was not a problem. Too many activities to list. Good amount of stuff to borrow for the day.

Everything was lovely until the free kegger. The underage drinking and adolescent drama that went with it was uncomfortable for me. Everything else was great! I'd advise staying elsewhere if over the age of 23, at least on Friday night.

the staff definitely helps if you have problems to find out what you want to do during your vacation. they know where banks, bus stations, good restaurants etc. are and are happy to help out. big "like" for that hostel!

What I expect from a hostel. Bathrooms needed more attention. It was noisy sometimes w/ folks slamming doors. Otherwise ok.

Had a good time, was worth the money, negatives to the location - a lot of traffic goes by it at all hours. the staff were easy going and the trips were fun, but I dont know what they were doing with the harley ripping up and down road around the hostel and then freekin about people being drunk and a little loud after 10pm. as for security, they have a safe for valuables, but compared to other counties ive stayed in, there are no personal lockers.

I have a standard for a hostel now! Daily tours, free breakfast, a fantastic common area. If I ever go back to Maui I will definitely stay here.

Best place to stay in Maui! Not in the best location but free tours all over the island every day are amazing and a great way to meet people if you'd like. Great facilities for cooking and hanging outdoors. Nice and clean.

Reserved a 4 bd mixed dorm. They placed my gf and me in a 6 bd. However 5 of the beds were taken until it was found someone was overstaying their welcome. The free keg on Friday night was the major upside. Nowhere to go and drink aka bars clubs etc. Was okay for price and cleanliness but overall staying in Maui I may look closer to the ocean the inland. 2 out of 4 stars.

this would be a great hostel if it had a two things changed: 1) knowing who the staff actually is. Most of the staff live in the common room at night when it closes at 10pm but there are so many different people who live here for cheap and work so it can be a bit confusing on who to ask or trust. 2) it was safer. The location is somewhat in a lower income bracket neighborhood of Maui and there are mostly shady looking people walking around. Hard to change the location but could make it safer
