This is by far one of the best hostels we have ever stayed in. The staff are like family and the free tours let you see the best Maui has to offer. Two thumbs up!

Really liked the atmosphere of this place. It was much better than what I was expecting and the vibe could not be beat. Wish I had stayed longer to take full advantage of their daily activities to Maui's major attractions. There are local restaurants and a Chevron for some brews if you need it. Also the bus line is fairly close as well if you need to travel farther. Wish there was closer beach access, but with the group of people around it is easy enough to find a new friend to adventure with!

Fun atmosphere, good facilities. Rooms are small and have no lockers.

this hostel is really laid-back and relaxed and especially fun if you're travelling alone and without car as it offers different activities around Maui each day of the week and parties in the hostel, so it's easy to get around the island and meet people. The cleanliness is not more than ok, but it's a hostel...!

If you just want to party, then this hostel is for you. It has a real frat house atmosphere, complete with beer bong. So if your plan for Maui is to get so drunk every night that you will not notice how filthy and disgusting this place is, then you will fit right in. If on the other hand you are looking for a clean place to stay and a good night's sleep, then you should probably stay elsewhere.

The quiet hours were not enforced, nor did they seem to extend to the actual sleeping area. Don't stay here during spring break season unless you have a set of ear plugs. The beds are rickety and the rooms are a bit musty, but they do have a good number of private showers. The place wasn't particularly clean, but they have a big kitchen, fridges, shelf space for food storage. The location is ok, near buses, but not too secure. They offer some good free tours and the staff was friendly enough.

I had a great time and met a lot of cool people. I like the facilities and the free pancakes in the morning:) The free tours are legit. The only thing was that I was allergic to something on the bed. They could have been cleaner.

This place was more than fine. Clean, comfortable. You feel at home rather quickly. The staff was really cool - the people were nice - no complaints. A genuinely good place to stay. Great value for the money. Even the bathrooms were well kept. Thanks Banana Bungalow.

I agree with most other comments left by fellow travelers, but I honestly lucked out in the people that I met there and am forever grateful to Banana as I'v crossed paths with people whom I hope to know for a very long time! The staff are laid back and helpful, the tours are a great perk. The only draw back are those few who work/live there and drink themselves silly on a nightly basis. It did occasionally feel a bit like a frat. Regardless I have nothing but love for Maui thanks to Banana.

Pricier than other hostel but wort it for the tours!!!!!!! Bathroom not clean, but with so many guest, its understandable. You just use them for a couple of minute anyways, there is so many things to do on Maui!!! Really big, busy and crowed. Go for the tours and meeting people to travel with, great for that. If its not what you are looking fort, there's better places.

This was only my second time in a hostel and I absolutely loved my stay at the bungalow. All of the staff were amazing and made my stay so much more fun. The free tours they offer are great. If you're looking for an awesome place to stay in Maui this is the place to go. I will definitely be returning in the future and would highly recommend the bungalow.
