A terrific little hostel (a converted apartment in a nice residential building) that's tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable. There are only two showers, but the entire hostel sleeps no more than 10 or 12, so it works out well enough. The free banana bread was a nice treat; and the two owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed when we checked in.

Felt a bit strange to live in someones apartment at first. And there was no receipt to guarantee that it was a real hostel. But the standard vas very high and the beds were confortable, Dont expect the breakfast to be a breakfast. Just toast and bananas.

I highly recommend Banana Hostel. Wilbur & Lexi really care about this place and their guests. The Hostel is very clean, safe and gorgeous decorated. There is a huge common room and everything you need in the flat. The Banana bread/cake brought by the owner is delicious. Although they cannot be in the hostel all the time as it is a normal flat, they are always available via email or phone. They made me enjoy my trip to Taiwan very much! Definitely would book again!

I really enjoyed my stay at Banana Hostel, it felt like renting your own cozy apartment in the middle of Taipei. Free bananas and banana bread (on the weekend) is a nice little touch as well, and the decor of the place just added to the homey feeling. The location is quite nice as well, near the train station (though you can't see that on Google Maps yet) and the CKS memorial. Would definitely stay again if I'm in Taipei.

Dear John, thank you so much! It's a pity that we couldn't talk more, because you seemed to enjoy our city very much:)Hope you can come to us again and explore more of Taiwan!

Banana hostel is super clean and super comfortable. The separate kitchen was a real bonus as were the free bananas and banana cake. The owners keep it real clean.. Maybe even too clean if I'm totally honest. The atmosphere was generally good, although was kept awake a couple of nights by people talking but that's not the hostels fault! When there was no-one else there it felt like our very own luxury flat. Maybe they could make it clearer to guests that the door should be locked when leaving.

Thank you for rating us highly. We're really trying to keep it as clean as possible, if it's too much for you, we apologize. As for the noise in the night, we've post a sign to tell people to keep volume down after 9pm, let's hope it will be working:)

This hostel locates in a very good location. It is near Chiang Kai-chek Memorial Hall. I was very impressed light up at Chiang Kai-chek Memorial Hall at night. Also the hostel locates very near to one famous restaurant, Din Tai Feng where you can taste good Xiao Long Bao. About the hostel itself, it is well decorated and very clean. Staff is very nice. You will have one locker for keep everything inside. Only one thing to comment, I hope that returned key should be left at some security locker.

The hostel is very nice and cozy, feel like being at home. The staff is very nice and friendly too. Their banana cake is very delicious as well. However, there's only 1 toilet in the whole apartment, which is shared among 7-8 people. This has caused quite a lot of problem, especially when people take long time for shower.

Hi Jarod&Monica, Thank you for your opinion. However, we have 2 toilets in our hostel. One is shared by the double room, the room you stayed, and the twin room, so there should be only 4 people to share it. We have another toilet in the dorm, and it shared by the 6 people who stay in that room. We think you may have some misunderstanding about the number of our toilet. And we want to correct it in case the other guests will be confused about this review, thank you anyway!

I really loved it. It is a flat converted in a hostel therefore it is very secure. it is located 3 underground stations from the centre of town but it is in a quiet area therefore you can sleep peacefully. The 2 owners of the place are very interesting people, charming and welcoming. The place is really clean and beautifully decorated.

Had a great stay at Banana and their banana cake is delicious! The only downside during our stay was the mosquito problem. My friends and I were eaten up by the mosquitoes the first night, ended up having to buy bug spray.

Dear Tran, we're so sorry for the mosquitoes during your stay, we actually got some bites as well. But we've found where the problem is, the open window, and we solve it already. Now we can't see any mosquito in our hostel!(happy~)

good to have more than a few electric sockets in the room (twin bed room). more adapters could be provided. better remind residents to label their food in the fridge, and things provided by the hostel should also be labelled.

Dear Karen&Shirley, Thank you for the review! Actuary we have provided stickers on the fridge for our guests to label their food. We thought people would use them automatically so didn't tell them when they check in. It's really our carelessness and will be more careful about it to tell every guest to label their food in our public fridge. And banana's food, like jam, peanut butter, and other toast spread, has been labeled "banana's" already, but we still appreciate you opinion. Thank you for help banana to become better and better!

Nice hostel - although the bathroom smelled pretty badly. I don't know what caused it, but there might be a serious problem with mold. If you can hold your breath though, it's quite a nice place to be at.
