The location it's all right because you can sleep with no loud music from the beach, but it's a bit far away from it, soo if you don't care about walking 15 min, it's ok.

For the money you can expect more! It is not that it is totally bad. It is just that they seem to take a lot of money because of the Location Koh Phi Phi. I have been in really nice hostels which where way nicer and where I payed LESS than the HALF....

The hostel is a little bit too far from everything, but it's got some kind of charm. It's not very clean and the staff couldn't speak any English. For Phi Phi and this amount of money, however, it's an okay-stay, if you don't want to spend too much and aren't to fussy.

Lovely staff and very decent bungalow style rooms. Although a bit of a walk from town it's nothing we would complain about.

Depending on wether u want to be 'in the thick of it' this hostel is out of the way of the main bars but only a 5 minte walk to all the action. Its a trek from the pier and isnt named on the most recent map...it used to be called ' The Snow With Resort' so look out for that. The staff were helpful although our room wasnt cleaned once and towels wernt changed in our 10 night stay.Keep your valuables with u at ALL times as on our first night someones room was broken into and £1000 stolen.Overpriced

Calling this place as resort must be a joke. Far-from-everything bungalows might be right. The city itself is incredible and small, what might help the hostel get some points, despite being far from facilities and hard to find. Place usually tidy but dark and without notorious resources. Staff learning english, which is a big step. Anywhere smoking area is disgusting, you can't even breath without swollow some cigars.. Staff smile is the best thing there.

Oops- ignore my earlier comment which I accidentally made about How Hostel in Guilin. Banana PP is an OK place to stay if you can't find anything else, but it has an inconvenient location (up a hill and then lots of steps to the upper guesthouses) and not as much customer service as other places. Probably could find a better value for your money. Still, they picked us up at the pier and helped with luggage, the room had AC & a hot shower, and we were awakened on Day 2 with monkeys on the porch.

Awesome hostel. The dorm rooms were pretty standard, the common rooms were nice, and the staff was extremely helpful. I e-mailed them a question a few weeks before arriving and within 30 minutes they had called my Chinese phone number to answer my question. Great value for the price, and the location was good for us since we were just passing through on our way to Yangshuo (the bus station is a 2-minute walk away). Also liked the free welcome coffee and the hostel kitty.

I should have known better after reading reviews but I consider myself a low maintenance traveller and thought it would be fine. I was wrong. The bungalow smelled of urine, mildew and mothballs. I had the privelage of unclogging the bathroom floor drain during my shower so that I didn't flood my room. Only God know what I pulled off of that thing. Also, a luggage padlock was what they use to "secure" the bungalows.... Not exactly reassuring... DEFINITELY better values in Phi Phi.

The resort is advertised as away from the bars and quiet. It is away from the nightlife however it is not quiet at all! there was music playing late into the night and staff watchin TV early in the morning. Take ear plugs! The rooms are clean, comfortable and nice.

If you find yourself in the hectic party atmosphere of Ko Phi Phi, and this is not the main reason you are there, the Banana PP resort is the place to relax and get some sleep away from the party crowd up on a hill in a jungle-like environment. The staff working there were amazingly pleasant and friendly, though the bungalow accommodation was not necessarily worth the money. Also not recommendable unless you are a nature lover: read bug, gecko and in our (albeit rare) case scorpion sighting.
