Security real issue, not enough lockers, rooms never locked, anyone could come in. additionally others on sandboarding trip organised through hostel found cash missing from purses, which left us all a bit uneasy. Aside from that, good atmosphere, ample chill out areas, reasonable food and fun bar as well as small pool.

Fernando was excellent!! Most helpful and I will recomed friends to stay at this hostel. Only down side was that when ordering food you must be prepared to wait.

Great place to spend a couple of days by the pool having a beer although some times it took 15 minutes to get one. The winery tour was just a trip to a pisco distillery and certainly not what you expect. Apart from those, nice hostel and recommend it

Lovely little part of Huacachina to stay in. One staff member was ALWAYS happy to help me with anything i needed -Thanks Alan!! ;-) The pool is a great place to chill out and meet people pleanty of travel advice to be swapped here. The hostel does good deals on the buggys and wine tours (most people U spoke to paid more elsewhere). The rooms are small - but this doesnt matter much, as youre on the dunes, by the pool or wandering by the oasis for the most part. Would definately reccomend Banana!

A good hostel, although a little pricey (bar and food) like everything else in Huacachina. A good place to chill and recharge the batteries around the pool. Friendly and helpful staff.

More of a resort than a hostel. Nice pool and bar/restaurant area. Rooms are a problem though. They are like garden sheds, crammed with beds. No lockers, or security meaning anyone could wander in and help themselves to your stuff as it's all open plan and caters to non guests.

A very nice place to stay. We stayed tree nights in a very nice room. they have a lovely little pool and its a great hostel to meet other people. They made a BBQ one night but there was notn't enough food to get full. They said it was with open bar but it was only one bottle for sharing everybody. It was a little expensive but good. They write that people should be quiet after 22 but they played loud music really late. In the bar they serve really nice food too.

Very relaxed, at home environment . Hammocks and outdoor furniture was perfect. Food is yum too. Sandboarding was awesome and cheap and all organised through the hostel.

I loved your hotel, hope I'll be back soon! The food was delicious and plentiful. Got a private locker, the rooms and bathrooms are always clean, and they come with ventilation. The perfect place to get away and relax, and have drinks with your friends at night. I specially loved the buggy tour, sandboarding and pool. Thanks everyone!

Had a good time here: chill, nice crowd, generally friendly and helpful staff. Sand dune tour is a must! We also did the tour to Islas Bellestas, this I would recommend NOT to do. It's only transportation, they needed 45 minutes to pick everyone up (it's a small town!) and there was no information. And contrary to what was promised they didn't drop us off at the bus terminal and gave us bad information about bus times. Just take a bus to Paracas and get a boat yourself, better and cheaper.

I found the Hostel environment encouraging to reclining in a banana tree shaded hammock with a beer and a good book. This being of course between intervals of jumping into the pool to beat the heat. The Hostel staff were very friendly, helpful, and coordinating trips such as Sandboarding or Islas Bellestas was very easy through them.

We had a great four days at Banana's. We loved the laid back atmosphere and our bed was the most comfortable we've had during our South American travels. Had great fun on the buggying/sand boarding trip. Food was good too. Definitely recommended for a few days of relaxation!

Pros: A nice relaxed hostel with a good sized pool, decent wifi signal throughout, and great food. The sandboarding tour is highly recommended and a great price as are the poolside beers! Cons: No breakfast is included, the showers are very weak so it's hard to get the sand off you after the dune tour, and the man offering to fix cameras tried and failed on two attempts to fix mine. All in all a good hostel though.

Food was very expensive (every meal). The charge does not include breakfast and you have to pay extra. You could find much cheaper, better hostels just on the other side of the oasis (about a 5 mins walk along the pond).

This is a great hostel to stay in Huacachina, we had a double room and it was really cosy and comfortable. The food is nice and reasonably priced, great pool, decent wifi and a really friendly atmosphere, a sociable place to meet people but is quiet after 10pm so no problems sleeping. I would also recommend the excursions they organise and would definately stay again.

Super fun hostel! The pool and bar are the main attractions; however, it manages to stay low key at night so noise isn't an issue. Sand boarding is a must. Food/drink prices may feel expensive at first; however, it is competitive with anywhere else in Huacachina (which is more expensive than most elsewhere in Peru).

Banana's didn't honor our reservation on Hostelworld; instead they took our money and then had a staff member walk us across the road to an entirely different hostel without even mentionining the fact that they had failed to reserve us a room. We can't comment on the quality of the rooms but had friends staying there who also said that they had booked a room with an ensuite and a mountain view, and instead got one with a shared bathroom and no view.
