One of best hostels I've stayed in.Great breakfast, good chill-out areas, fast wi-fi, comfortable beds, hot showers, big rooms. Pete and Debs are more like friends than hostel owners, they make you feel right at home.There weren't many people staying there when I was there, but rather than put all of us (travelling separately) in the same dorm (which is what most hostels tend to do) they gave us each our own dorm room, which is amazing hospitality!Would def recommend Bananas & stay there again

Bananas hostel is definitely the place to be in Itacare! Very close to the different beaches, restaurants and bars. Very-laid back vibe! Meet some great people there!

Great place, great location!!! I came here for 2 nights and stayed for a week. If u come to itacare this is the place to be!

Very fun hostel

Pocho's breakfast's was great! The staff was very helpful. The hostel is very international and english was the main language spoken here. The hostel helped us set up surf lessons with Local Surf Shop. Thanks for everything, Peter and Pocho!

Bananas Hostel is an amazing hostel. While the rooms are quite average and lack AC, the real beauty of this hostel is in the truly wonderful staff, the calm and pretty open-air common areas, and most of all the incredibly social, fun, and musical atmostphere. Owners Peter and Deb are awesome people who work very hard to maintain the hostel, provide nightly activities, and make sure everyone is comfortable. I only stayed four nights at Bananas but I could have easily stayed a few weeks.

A must stay if your traveling to Itacare! Great place to relax and meet heaps of fellow travelers. Peter and Debs have made the back lounge area a great place to chill and drink a cold beer. Pollo truly makes everyone's experience awesome with his great guitar playing and free tours to the secluded beaches!!

It is worth the money, you get a really nice room and atmosphere in the hostel. The staff is friendly and helpful. It is a good location in the middle of the mainstreet, close to beaches, restaurants and parties. I really recommend this for backpackers who want to relax and party.

Peter, the owner is a very kind person, and is always worried to make your stayhe t one. He promotes parties, bbqs, annd is always around for a chat or for helping his guests to find out their way at Itacare.

Amazing hostel!! Loved it here. Location is excellent right in the middle of the main street, close to the beaches. lovely garden and bar out the back to enjoy with jam sessions once a week. The staff and owners are really friendly! Highly recommend this hostel and Max's Capetas!!!

Excellent option in Itacare, the owners are super friendly. I felt like home, the common areas are great, full of hammocks, and some couchs and pillows so you can relax , chat and make friends. I spent 10 days there, and I met great travellers there. Breakfast is also great. I totally recommend!

Well I arrived for the 4 bed dorm. Lockers were broken. Bathroom had missing tiles and was generally in bad shape. Sheets were in poor condition too. The fan is not enough for the rooms it was boiling in there and then after 2 nights due to lack of sleep from the heat I had to leave otherwise my stay would have been affected in Itacare. Also, the staff never seemed to be around. And the internet was very poor not enough enough to make a skype call.

I think it is a good hostel. The atmosphere is really great. The staff is too relaxed and there were moments that i didn't know who to speak to.

Bananas hostel is located in the middle of the main avenue, super close to the parties in the street and waking distance from the beach. The hostel handles their own parties and barbecues, so you will have something to do every day. The staff is very friendly Peter and William took good care of people. The bad points are the facilities are not very new/well done, it was quite difficult to maintain it clean from sand and the fan wasn`t enough during the night, an aircon is necessary for summer.

This hostel is the heart of Itacare. The atmosphere is great no matter what your mood. It was fun to do everything as a group, we felt at home. The garden is a superb spot for chilling! The breakfast is VERY extensive, rare in hostels. Rooms are clean and basic. All staff were fantastic; Pete was very helpful with information on where to go & what to do. Debs is the perfect party companion & very sweet, Max & William aka 'Superman' were great fun! We loved it so much we're coming back.
