They are working on getting free wifi but at the moment it is very expensive. The dorm room was freezing with no heating and not enough blankets and a very noisy electronic box that seems to serve no function. There is a kitchen and small TV room. The best part is that it is a 2 min walk from Banff ave

Nice hostel, good location, great kitchen and comfy beds. No wifi, and very expensive if you want to pay for it (just go to starbucks instead!!!)

We had a great stay at Banff y mountain lodge. Only recommendation would be to provide free wifi or make it more affordable.

Bathrooms need to be clean regularly. Need to have an option to use a locked safe during your stay.

We had a private room that came with a bathroom although the original booking indicated a shared bathroom. The staff were amazing and very helpful. The building overall was really clean, the bistro was a great place to have a breakfast and we enjoyed the location of the lodge. I found it a really cheap stay for what we got. Highly recommend!

Had a great stay, great location and staff. The only downside was that the wifi was so very very expensive. The first time in Canada we have had to pay for wifi in a hostel, everywhere else it's been free.

Great overall place. Nice location beside river. Banff needed another hostel. Loved the Great Room. Please replace the paid wifi with free wifi. Also, the rooms need lockers.

The rooms were nice, it was very close to the main areas of Banff. But the shower head did not give proper water pressure, half of it had no water coming out. There was very poor parking areas reserved, had to walk a ways away to get back to the hostel.

There was no toilet paper in the common washroom (I had rented a private room without a bathroom). This occurred 2 days in a row. When I told the front desk clerk, she was very rude and said she didn't have toilet paper (I told her there was none in the bathroom yesterday as well). She said that the washrooms were only cleaned every 3 days and then gave me a dirty look. The best part of this hostel was the location. It was adequate, but I'd probably not stay there again.
