Banghoek Place Reviews

Banghoek was a good choice for our group to stay. Some of us stayed in private rooms and others stayed in dorms. We did not have any major problems. Overall Banghoek was in a safe neighbourhood and good value for money. The one negative thing that we noticed during our stay there is that compared to other hostels that we stayed in during our two week vacation staff in Banghoek was the least qualified and we experienced some large communication issues/misunderstandings.

We stayed in a 4 sleeper facing the street, the room was disappointingly small, dirty and dark, barely fit for a single sleeper which they have managed to jam with 4 beds. The toilets were not hygenic at all, with no toiletry, towels, or soaps. We didn't use the showers, they reminded me of my national service in the desert... The kitchen was fully equipped with a very good fridge and freezer, the stove was nice and the lobby was awesome. I won't go there again and don't recommend to others.

Shower was a bit moldy and smelled also moldy. But overall nice place.

A very clean and modern place to base your stay at Stellenbosh. Beautifully decked out rooms with clean and spacious bathroom. We were greeted with a smile on arrival and helped with anything we needed during our stay. Kitchen was fully functional and a great place to prepare your own meal, with dining areas next to the pool. We would definitely recommend and come back.

Pricey, but such is the area. Understaffed, but the staff that is present is very attentive and eager to help.

Had a lovely time at Banghoek Place. The staff were welcoming and were always on hand to answer questions. Security was good and facilities were also spot on. It was about a 20 minute walk to the city centre but it was an easy walk regardless of the time of day or night. Very happy to recommend Banghoek Place, and would also heartily recommend the Easy Rider wine tour as well, which runs from here - well worth the day out!
