Very nice and helpful staff, yet quite basic rooms. Good value for money!

Staff are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The room has cold AC and a fan, 2 bottles of water are provided everyday. A moped rental place is located next door which makes navigating the city really easy and fast, and 250 bhat per day isn't bad at all.

Pretty good hostel, not too far from the city center and you can rent mopeds right next door. Staff are very friendly and helpful, they went above and beyond for us. Left them the key to our mopeds because we had to leave for a tour early in the morning, upon arriving back from our tour they returned to us our moped deposits hassle free. Also offered to hold our bags while we explored the city on our last day with a late flight.

Quiet and clean - Staff very helpful.

Nice quiet place. Bit of a walk from the old town, but as a result the local area feels much less touristy. Excellent staff, helpful and friendly. No common area (the cat cafe doesn't really "work" as that), so not much of a place to meet people.

My only cons are the noise coming from outside the room (looked like the door or wall were too thin and if you are located near the stairs, probably you will get up early) and bathroom itself (there is not a proper shower so u might get disappointed). All in all, the staff were incredibly helpful and the location near a local market is great if you like thai food (need to rent a bike to move further but worthwhile).

Very nice guest house in the north of Chiang Mai. Wish I had stayed here during my first visit to the city. The staff are very helpful and friendly, speak English well and give out good advice on what to do (they sure you down for 10 minutes when you arrive and explain where everything is). Room was clean and I have no complaints.

The staff was very helpful. They provided maps and went over in detail about the area. Just one suggestion the toilet paper maybe should be in a holder that covers it because of the shower/toilet bathroom the toilet paper gets ruined. You are outside the old city area, but there is a lot to discover and eat outside that area. And the walk to the wall area is quick and easy.

Banilah is located in a local feeling part of Chiang Mai with good access to the city and food and drink. I think the most amazing part of this hostel is the staff. They were so helpful from the get go. They helped us by mapping the city when we arrived and then helping with the motorbike rental, taxis and suggesting places to eat and drink. We ended up going to this hip area based on their suggestions and that was absolutely awesome. It made our trip going to eat and drink there. Stay here!!

The staff here are some of the friendliest and helpful people I've met on my travels. You are excellent at making guests feel welcome and informed. A truly lovely hostel with truly lovely people.

This hostel is just out of the old town walls, around 30Baht per person to get to and from the town. The staff here are super helpful, letting you in on little gems in the community surrounding the hostel. The room was cleaned daily and there is a night security guard. Have already recommended to friends!

We arrived very early morning and were greeted by the security guard who took us straight to our room. He helped with our bags up a few flights of stairs. When we went to the reception we were given 3 maps and loads of information about what to do and where to go. They also helped us book a trip to an elephant save and rescue centre and a bus to Pai. Very peaceful area, room was comfortable and clean. About a 15 minute walk into the centre. Stayed two nights and had a very pleasant stay here.

The Banilah hostel was lovely and very close to agod food market outside of the town centre. The town itself is about 20 minutes away but the staff provide you with a loan bicycle that helps you get around easily. Not a particularly social hostel as the only communal area is the shared coffee shop which closes at 8pm. However the staff are lovely, the cats are beautiful

Location is a little out, but staff more than make up for it! We ate at some amazing local places that we'd never have found without the help of the manager! When you arrive she sits you down with a map and shows everything to do nearby and in Chiangmai centre. Genuinely lovely staff, clean rooms free water, we returned after we'd been to pai!

Nice and helpful staff . clean hostel with great facilities. Location is a bit far from the main attractions but it's ok you can take a red car or rent a motorbike. It's a bit noisy at night from the outside ,otherwise it's perfect.

It was one of the best we stayed in Thailand! The owner is very helpful and kind, she explained everything to do in the city, where to go and so on; she even called for us to book an activity. The rooms are really nice and the bathroom was cleaned. It was really a good place to stay in Chiang Mai. We recommend this place!

Ob, the lovely lady owning this place was super helpful, patient and funny. I would totally come back to this place, only to see her again. Unfortunately our bathroom was a tiny bit moldy, but not awfully bad. Great and cheap place!
