This would have to be one of the best hostels we have stayed in, super clean - linen changed every second day. Very, very safe and secure. It's smaller size made it very comfortable and friendly. Location is fantastic - close to everything. Would highly recommend this hostel to anyone.

This was my first ever stay in a hostel, and I could not fault anything about my five nights at the Barefoot. The accommodation was spacious, welcoming, full of character and impeccably clean. The location couldn't be more central, and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. I would not hesitate recommending the Barefoot to anyone seeking a budget stay in Ottawa.

Great location and excellent facilities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Its like staying in a house away from home with the living area downstairs and kitchen very warm and homely. Not the kind of hostel if you like to party with fellow backpackers but all the good spots downtown where you can meet people are only a short walk away

This is the most liveable of the three Ottawa hostels I've tried. It feels cozy, so I'd recommend it for longer stays. However, it is also the most expensive, so that makes it an average value for money. On the nights I stayed there it was cold in the upstairs rooms (though to be fair, it was January and -20C outside at that time). If you come in the winter, bring your warm pyjamas and some thick socks or slippers, and you'll be just fine!
