Great Hotel for the location and money. Very clean and comfortable sheets and beds. Friendly helpful staff. My wife also felt safe and was happy, and our 14 year old boys approved. We had a good sized room, and even a fridge. They wanted to stay another couple of nights !

Place was filthy. It's also massive - theres several buildings, and each floor has a small (and equally filthy kitchen). There is a ridiculous amount of stairs, so nightmare if you have a suitcase. No real atmosphere. Not enough bathrooms, and the bathrooms that are available were so dirty I didn't shower. However, it's location is ideal if you're going to Earls Court.

One of the worse hostels I have ever been, and I was even in a single private room! It was extremely noisy and quite unclean. The shower was terrible too. The staff did their job, but nothing remarkable. No breakfast included, no free internet. It is unfortunate, because the position is good and there are beautiful gardens next to it... Long story short: never ever again at this hostel!!!!

Receptionist was arrogant, unwelcoming and extremely rude. Only thing going for this place is the cheap price. Avoid this hostel if possible.

Close to tube station and in a perfect location. only paid 11 or 12 pounds a night but you get what you pay for. Friendly staff but place is dirty and old. They don't provide top sheets ( so bring your own)and not very warm inside during a cold snap.

I was very pleasantly surprised. The location is perfect: very close to the tube station. The beds were really comfortable, I had a nice shower and hired a towel without too much difficulty.

The shower did not have shower had, so water was just pouring. No soap. There were used razor blades left in the shower. The door lock of the room seemed to be very easy to break. No lockers. Very old furniture. No chairs in the room. No free internet.

When I entered the Hostel I was told there where no free rooms due to overbooking. However, I did my reservation months ago so this is a very poor impression. I was told that the hostel would have arrangements for cases like theses (seems like this happens often) and I could have a room in a 4-Star Hotel 5 minutes walk away. Unfortunately this Hotel told me that the Hostel gave me wrong information and sent me to another (dirty) Hostel 5 minutes away where I got a room. Never Barkston YH again.

I booked a bed in 6 bed female dorm but I was given a place in a 8 bed mixed dorm, they added later other 2 beds so it became 10 bed dorm...It also happened doublebooking, two persons ended sleeping in the same bed,and another person didn't have pillow and duvet...Good location though, lots of shops, restaurants.

You\'ve got to know what you\'re paying for. I\'ve paid 8 pounds for a night, so I shared the bedroom with 7 other people. Anyway, for this value it was pretty much what I expected and if you\'re willing to pay less to 10 pounds, this may be a good place for you, since it\'s just beside the Earl\'s Court Station.

The hostel was okay for the short stay. However, the staff is not really friendly and we usually had to wait for ages until they had time for us and they did not really make an effort to help us. We also had some problems with the locks of our rooms. The lock in the first room broke during the first night. So we were booked into another room, but the key did not fit into the lock of this door so that we got a different room again. We had to move our luggage quite a lot but we finally got a lockable room. Th
