The kitchen was great! Able to cook anything I felt like it (saved some money) and whenever I wanted to make a new friend I just headed to the kitchen. Although the hostel could use a bar. Temple Bar has too many random people to be considered the hostel's bar.

The rooms were really small and the bathrooms were iffy. The toilet in my room didn't work and the shower was really dirty. I loved the location and the staff was great. But its worth it to pay the extra money to stay in a room by your self or with fewer roommates.

Excellent location. Right off the Temple Lane which has multiple large pubs located in the vicinity. Short walk to Guiness Storehouse and night clubs. Everything you need in a hostel.

I got a two person suite which turned out to be a very cramped room, hard mattresses and weak pillows, and a dirty bathroom. Upside: free towels to use, a mirror in room, and a small closet and drawer space. Relatively good price for its location to Dublin nightlife. Staff was not overly welcoming. Bad/no wifi. The breakfast was just toast - no paper plates or napkins and had to do own dishes which was a hassle. Choosing not to stay here again.

Dear Kelsie, Thank you for staying with us and for your review. We are sorry to hear about your bad experience at our hostel. It is pity that you haven't mention the troubles with pillow, mattress and bathroom while you stayed with us as we always try to do our best to satisfy our customers. Our bathrooms are cleaned on daily basis and we will definitely look into it as cleanliness is one of the most important parts of being a good hostel. Wi-Fi is free and available in common room and kitchen as we inform our customers at check-in. The breakfast is free and includes tea, coffee, hot chocolate, juice, toast, butter and assorted jams. Our kitchen is fully equipped including plastic and porcelain plates therefore we don't provide paper plates. We have paper tea towel dispenser and extra paper napkins underneath (next to microwave). Regarding washing your own dishes we understand it could be hassle for our customers but it could also be the part of the real travel experience. We wish you all best. Kind Regards, Barnacles Crew

Fantastic to have such economical, comfortable accomodation right in the heart of Temple Bar. The staff were particularly friendly and accomodating. I'll definately pick Barnacles next time I'm back in Dublin.

Don't come here if sleep is important to you. The hostel is nosiy, but that is nothing compared to the noise from outside. The hostel is in an entertainment area with a lot of pubs and clubs with people out and about late making a lot of noise. Then you have the pubs cleaning up in the morning and staking all the empty metal kegs in the morning at 6am. Breakfast is very basic, just toast and coffee/juice.

Hi there, We are indeed in the Red Hot Center of Everything that dublin's night life has to offer in the heart of The Temple Bar District. The Temple Bar Pub is just 25m away from our front door, So not far to stagger after a few brews. There are scores of restaurant's, theatres, art galleries, more pubs and more clubs secondds away. If you inform reception you are a light sleeper, we will do out best to accommodate you in a quiter room and we have ear plugs at reception if the craic get's a little too lively for you. Breakfast is basic, but it is FREE. And for €16 in a 6 Bed, you also get an ensuite, Free Internet, Free WIFI, and Free Walking tours too. All the best, The Crew

The front desk staff was helpful, but the breakfast was not very filling. It was only toast, coffee, and orange juice. You have to pay for towels as well which is not what the website said when I paid for this.

Hi Krystal. Thanks for staying with us. Towels are indeed available for a small fee of €1.50. (You can save on check in baggage fees ) As the information suggests on hostelworld, towels are free in twin's and double's but this small charge does apply for people who may not have packed a towel. I can see you were were one of the lucky ones whom got a bed on the day for €13.00 in a 10 Bed Dorm. Including Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Free WIFI, Free City Map, a Free 3 Hour Walking Tour and Gorgeous Staff... Happy Travels.

Had an awesome time here! Perfect if you want to meet people, have some fun going out and partying and have some quiet time either sleeping or relaxing in your room or chillout area. Kitchen is very big so if you're into cooking then you can do that as well.

It was amazing! Had an amazing time! The bed was really nice to sleep in! The location was excellent, right in the middle of everything! The staff was very helpful! One thing though, the showers could be a little cleaner :)

I understand that this is a larger hostel, but that is no excuse for the condition of the bathroom. It wasn't exactly dirty, but most hostels have cleaner bathrooms.

It was a good hostel. Wife and I stayed in a double room with a bathroom to ourselves. We only wish there was wifi available in the rooms... But there was a free breakfast, a nice clean kitchen and dining area, great location, and friendly staff.

Bathroom was broken the day i arrived, i told someone at the reception the following morning, they said maintenance would take care of it, ibut the toilet remained broken for the rest of the 3 days i stayed there, didnt help that drunk girl got sick in it and drunk guys kept peeing into it. Smelled bad. Other than that, met alot of cool people, very good location, big kitchen to hang out it and cook food in.

Hi there, Glad you shared your time here with some awesome people. Maintenance did check the bathroom, as it was myself, (handsome fellow with ponytail) whom it was reported to. We showed a few people in the room that it was working. Maybe they were too drunk to bother flushing. The toilet is a bit O'Irish however and needs a good old yank in order to flush. Happy travels, The Barnacles Team
