The hostel has the best location you could wish for. It is a bit noisy in the night, but you are in Dublin and next door to the Temple Bar so it does not matter. The sanitary installations are old an not very reliable especially the toilets. If you like to live cheap and pivotal and with a lot of fun, the Barnacles Temple Bar House is the best choice!

Really cold inside, no activities in the weekends.

Security and location were great, right in the Temple Bar. The atmosphere was ok, nothing special. If you're taller than 1.85, the beds might be too small for you. Wi-Fi could be improved

Very good location nice free breakfast . On the day we checked out they were having beds replaced and We came into room and they were moving our things and it wasn't after check out. It was almost like an invasion of privacy . They apologised for it but I wasn't happy. Another time could have been arranged ! Not how things should be managed. One of the other backpackers was still sleeping and she had to give up her bed,!

Great location with a lot of restaurants and bars nearby. Easy walking distance to a lot of stuff in Dublin. Staff had great recommendations on food and stuff to do. Common areas weren't anything special, but all in all a good place to stay.

The cages instead of regular lockers are a nightmare, was very happy but about ten minutes before I left a guy in a health mask came in and removed two of the mattresses in a big hurry.. Doesn't seem so clean now! Also room was freezing, otherwise amazing location couldn't ask for better in Dublin

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Annually we replace all mattresses in the building in order to maintain our overall bed quality and general hygiene standards. We hope that the scheduled replacement of your mattress on the morning of your departure was not too much of an inconvenience. Our cages have a 100 litre capacity and all of our rooms have central heating as well as portable fan heaters.

The location of this hostel is perfect! In the middle of the city centre and next to the famous Temple Bar. Staff were super friendly and helpful! The rooms were bit tiny, but alright and clean.

Very good hostel, clean facilities and the breakfast is simple but good. They have a lot of recommendations of what to do all over the reception. The staff was helpful but not very engaging. Its more of a party hostel and the walls are sort of thin, so a lot of noise during the day and night. The beds were comfy and the shower was good too. Also good wifi signal. And the location is just perfect. Stay there and spend almost nothing with visiting the city.

Pros: Free Wiki. Central location. Easy to find. Easy to stumble home.. Common room was cosy. Cons: Street very noisy unti l3am. Then street cleaners from 4-6am. Thhen you can sleep! 6 bed dorm very small. Practically double beds. Leaky faucets in toilet. BAsically, bigger and better hostels in Dublin with bars and better facilities. This is an oldie but goodie.

Top hostel in Ireland.

Barnacles Temple Bar is located in the Temple Bar District of Dublin, so you're quite close to many of the best pubs. it's also a close walk to many of the museums and attractions Dublin has to offer. The hostel is newer, the facilities are excellent and it has one of the largest kitchens I've ever seen in a hostel. There's one small common room, so often times people congregate in the kitchen.

This was my second stay with Barnacles... I loved it so much the first time I had to come back... And have already booked to stay again. The staff is fun and friendly, facilities are clean and comfortable. Barnacles is centrally located, everything is easily accessed. As a solo traveler, I left with handfuls of new friendships and even more incredible memories. Imagine spending Christmas playing drinking games with a group of people representing 10 countries... Overall an amazing place to stay!
