Great hostel, everything succeeded most hostels level of service including individual power points for each bed! The rooms were tiny however, not much room when everyone has a pack. Really a place to just sleep.

Location location location - in the heart of it all. With this though came an incredible amount of noise from outside the hostel, take ear plugs. (From about 0530- 6am each day the pubs drag up the empty kegs up to the street from the cellars to be collected before traffic Starts) This was a great hostel

I stayed for one night, so it is very hard to tell about staff and atmosphere for that time.

Hostal was clean, well kept, nice and fun people working there (felt tempted of telling them to join us for pints). Breakfast has everything you need, cereals, toasts, juice, coffe, tea and boiled eggs. They had playstation and wii for those who wanted to chill on the common area. Really helpfful as in where to grab buses to the airport, trips, grab a good coffee on dublin, etc... Only thing left to improve is the possibility of leaving the common area open 24h for pre/post-drinks

My only complaint was the noise level and cigarette smoke from the Temple Bar.

Very recommended hostel !! It was a very nice stay, you've got in the corner the Temple Bar. The location is everything for this hostel, you can get to any part easily. It was clean, and it was nice that each one had their own conector and big locker beneath the bed. Internet is not very good.

All in all this was a great hostel. The only thing, and I wouldn't even call it a complaint, to mention is that the showers in Barnacles are HIGH pressure. There is a reason the word "high" is in caps there. It's like a massaging shower head. Great if that works for you, not so great if you have sensitive skin. Everything else was great; the staff, the breakfast, the rooms, the bathrooms, etc. I would recommend Barnacles!

Cool hostel in the heart of temple bar. Helpful staff etc. no complaints really, except not the most social set out so you have to make an effort if you're a solo traveller and want to party.

The en suite bathroom/shower was gross. It smelled of mold and mildew. Additionally, the shower's water pressure was so high it felt like I was being sandblasted and the bathroom floor would be covered in water anytime you took a shower.

Really cool hostel in the party centre of Dublin. There was a free pasta dinner on the night I was there, and it was awesome. The staff advised me on getting to the airport from the hostel, and the bus was very nearby. The dorm room was nice and large. The individual lights and power sockets were much appreciated. Would gladly stay again.

Can't believe how lucky I was to be right in the heart of the old city - so convenient. The staff were extremely helpful with any question I needed to ask.

Very centrally located in Temple Bar area, literally next to the door. With all pros (step out of the door and you're in the middle of the action) and cons (don't expect quiet nights, especially if your room is facing Temple Bar)

It was extremely noisy & a lot more loud obnoxious drunk people than I expected coming in at all hours. Bed linens appeared dirty & the bathroom was moldy. Tried to take a shower downstairs but someone had puked & peed in there. Not a good experience at all unfortunately :-(

Floors were dirty, some staff was friendly but others not, overall a good place to stay if you want to drink all night and a easy hostel to find. Very good location!
