Would like to have seen more coat hangers/hooks and places to put personal belongings. Staff were certainly very helpful and was very pleased with that. Thanks a lot.

This should be a model for every hostel in the world...perfect location, a spacious dorm for all the peoples bags, a toilet better than in most of the hotels, a good breakfast, great kitchen and a nice common room. Perfect in everything.

I seriously can't fault this place in any way. The staff were FANTASTIC, the location couldn't be beaten (right in Temple Bar districts heart), the rooms were nice and cleaned properly everyday, common room had a good vibe and I really enjoyed my stay. You can walk to all of Dublin's best attractions easily and its no problem to locate the hostel. For fear of being over positive, it would have been nice to have wifi in the rooms but it didn't worry me. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

This hostel had very little atmosphere at all. Despite it's location in the middle of temple bar, it was not a very fun place to stay. It had the feel of a cheap motel rather than a place I'd go to meet people or have good experiences. Its location almost makes Barnacles worth it, but I wasn't impressed, and will be trying somewhere else next time. The main complaint was that there is no access to common rooms or kitchens after midnight. Makes no sense.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi Chris ! Thank you for your feedback! However, we here at Barnacles are a little disappointed by your comment. We close the common room and kitchen around midnight so people can get some sleep -Also it is to stop people burning the place down trying to make pizza at 3 in the morning after loads of pints. There is plenty of atmosphere in Temple Bar to keep the entire hostel awake if we brought it inside! We have a constant stream of interesting characters from around the world staying with us- sorry you couldn't make friends. You were one of the lucky one's , you got a sale bed at €11!!!! Kind regards and happy travels! ~ The Barnacles Crew

The staff was very welcoming and helpful in giving tips or directions. The breakfast was a bit disappointing and the rooms were crammed but the location in temple bar is very convenient.

The location was fantastic. It is very centrally located. After flushing the toilet, it took about 15 - 20 minutes until you could flush it again. But, that was the only issue I found with it. Great staff and very clean!

Great location, staff are very helpful. Under the bed locker was a bit dodgy but otherwise security was good.

Amazing location, super friendly staff. Private double was a great room for the money and the towel service and good water pressure was much appreciated.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful! Loved the pub crawl and all the opportunities the hostel provided at the front desk. My only complaint was breakfast, however I feel bad complaining about this because at least it was something. When I went in for breakfast at 7am there was only toast and coffee, maybe just one more item would be nice like yogurt or fruit, more a suggestion rather than complaint really. Everything else though was really great, loved the common room!
