Easily one of the best hostels I've stayed in in all of Latin America. Beautiful setting above an almost private beach, close to a huge long beach and easy to access other beaches. Really friendly and helpful staff. Great included breakfast. Free use of surf boards. Free caiparinha every night. What else could you want!?

great location right on the beach but its not Florianopolis, Santa Catarina Island instead, 2 bus rides from the rodoviaria. Rooms were spotless and comfortable, in the privates anyways. The dinner in the evening was great as was the company there. Would highly recommend. Make sure to take a day to visit Logoainha De Leste at the south of the island.

Amazing place to stay overall. Had an absolute ball there! However, one of the laptops I used to put photos onto my USB ruined my memory card and therefor cost me an extra US$60 to replace it. I know this happened to someone else while I was staying there so be careful!

It's a great hostel, the view from the balcony is really amazing and the staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. I also liked the fact that it is so close to the beach you can actually hear the sound of the waves from your bed... The area is quite safe too. I really enjoyed my time there and would defo come back!

You can definitely understand why it has good reviews. The dinners every night were a great value, delicious and a fun way to get to know the other people in the hostel. One slight downside is that the hostel is on a pocket beach and not on the actual Barra de lagoa beach, as they may have you to believe. But that's just being picky!

An absolutely great hostel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The (optional, paid) dinner each night was always delicious and very reasonably priced. The views from the hostel are great -- especially from the bar/deck area. Location might not suit those looking to head into Florianopolis proper regularly, but was great for us, given we just wanted a beach break somewhere relaxing.

This has to be, without a doubt, the best hostel I have ever stayed at in Brazil. The beautiful location, amazingly warm and attentive staff, great options that they offered of activities as well as the nightly dinners made by the Italian chef were all factors that made this stay one of my most pleasurable. The hostel is not very big in terms of capacity, so I never felt overwhelmed by a large number of guests. Automatic vacation mode as soon as you see the view from the Tower Bar :)

It was a great location with great proximity to a secluded beach. Ali was very helpful. I would highly recommend this place. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite and it had air conditioning along with a ceiling fan. We couldn't hear anybody outside. We used the surfboards and snorkeling gear, although the water was not conducive to snorkeling.

- Very old towels (mine had a hole..) - Ventilator in house 4 / room 3 doesn't work - R$10,00 deposit not retorned because check-out was after 5pm, even the reception working 24 hours.

Had an amazing time at this hostel, Great location, great facilities with an amzing set up offering meals of a night time where everyone eats and drinks together and the food was amazing. The staff here are the frendliest and most fun i have come across. Loads of trips to sign up for either boating trips on the lakes or concert/night club trips which the staff get involved and enjoying the experience with you. Location right on a secluded small cove beach & 5 mins Walk to the main beach.

It's an excellent hostel! There is a growing trend of hosteling for hostels that are extremely well organized, well worked out systems, run like efficient businesses by experience business people - this is one of them. I am more old school looking for the owner run, personal contact, smaller more location authentic style hostel, but Barra Beach Club is very good at what they do.
