Great operation, they have really thought through how to make a good hostel. Friendly and extremely helpful staff, clean, good food, even the 10 bed dorm is rather cozy. I would stay there just for the view from the bar.

Very nice hostel, I would highly recommend to everyone. We especially used the clean, well equipped kitchen but apparently the dinners offered by the hostel are very good, too. Staff very friendly, view amazing and, most importantly, yummy breakfast (especially the home-made juice, we loved it). We visited quite some beaches around Santa Catarina but came to the conclusion that the "prainha" (>5mins by foot from hostel) is our favorite. check it out!

Great hostel. Located at beach further away from the center, it is surrounded by nature, but not isolated. A great beach is just a 5 minute walk away and great bars and clubs a 20 minutes bus ride. Being on a hill, it gets great views from the balcanies, with the restaurant/bar being the best. The all-you-can-eat dinner for R$15 deserves special mentioning. The rooms could be a little bigger, but you're not staying in the room long anyway.

P{erfect hostel, like a dream. specially the beautifull spanish girl, the helpfull brazilian plus german boy. if you want to know what paradise is you deffently have to go to this hostel!

great hostel the best things were the excellent staff,who were really helpful and nice,and the location with a superb view from the bar area of the beach.i would recommend this place to 20-40 age group.

Great location. Although for the prie there are alternatives in the area which are up to half price of what you pay at the hostel. Other than that its a great plae to stay.

Thank you for a clean, efficiently run and welcoming environment. Really enjoyed the free use of surf boards and beach equipment. Not a party hostel and I really liked it that way. A chill place to be.

Very good hostel. Nothing to complain about. Clean and safe. Staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a really good bar where you can meet people who lives in the same hostel. Excellent view to ocean. Keep doing an excellent job, guys!

The whole staff is simply awesome and that is what makes the difference, from Jim the owner to Ale, Helen, Jaime, Matthias, Edison, Sam, Gabriel and both Lauras are great people who will help you out with anything you need. The place has an awesome energy, the hostel is clean and the location is simply paradise, waking up to the ocean in such a great place is just perfect.

A great place near the beach. The staff are friendly, the food is fantastic, and its a great place to meet people. Can't recommend it enough.

Barra Beach Club was an awesome location with free surf board rentals, amazing views, and awesome capirinas!

Love this place! It's a five minute walk from Barra de Lagoa itself, crossing a bridge, and the location is divine. Fabulous views of the entire bay, great breeze, and lots of amenities. Great staff, everything was very clean, and I felt very safe. The free happy hour caipirinha is a great way to bring everyone together and make friends. Social environment. It's a little more expensive than other hostels in town, but with all the freebies and the view its more than worth it. Great place.

I had a fantastic stay at Barra Beach Club. The food, facilities, wifi, and free extras like surf boards and beach toys (which are the newest I've ever seen at a hostel) were among the best I've experienced at a hostel in South America. The staff really make it. They're friendly, organized, reliable and go out of their way to help you access whatever you may need to enjoy Floripa. I definitely recommend BBC to anyone looking for a fun and social hostel experience. Have the feeling I'll be back!

Jim has turned a large family guesthouse complex into a fantastic hostel, to the benefit of us all!! I've stayed in hundreds of hostels around the world and it's rare that I take the time to review them. The staff are incredibly helpful and the place overlooks a cute little beach, so you can enjoy breakfast with a view, or an early morning dip to cure your hangover. From the Mona Lisa bar 10 steps away, to Barra de Lagoa shops and beach, you can't lose staying in this hostel in Floripa!!

Great place to be alone or make new friends.

One of the best backpackers I have ever stayed in! The staff are the friendliest most accommodating people and are willing to help you out with anything you need. The hostel organizes daily trips and activities all over the island. My girlfriend and I stayed for 2 weeks over Christmas/new years and were very sad to leave. Laura the Italian chef cooks amazing meals which are also great value. If you visit Floripa I highly recommend checking out this place!

The staff was super nice and super cool. The complimentary breakfast was very generous and the dinners are a great value. The bathrooms are kept clean, and the common areas are relaxing. You would have a hard time finding a better place to stay.
