Run by a lovely Bahian women (and her son!) who speak good English and currently staffed by a Spanish, German and Italian trio. The hostel was quiet when I was staying, which is why I didn't score 'Excellent' for atmosphere. Location is very good, as long as you don't want to be bang on the beach. It is on a quiet street, that you can safely walk down at night and is very close to the Idioma language school. Free nightly caipirinhas is a nice touch; breakfast is okay, but nothing special.

The Barra Guest House is a very well located hostel. Displays exemplary cleanliness, with delicious breakfast. After all, the owner welcomes guests so that they feel at home. Anyway my stay was wonderful.

Great location, close to the beach, supermarket and restaurants/bars. Staff were friendly and welcoming. A great place to call home for a few days.

Hostel was very good and in particular the atmosphere. Area is safe! I recommend it !!
