The rooms are cleaned every day and you get fresh towels daily. The owner is very friendly and explains everything clearly. The breakfast is delightful because you have all kinds of fruit and also homemade pancakes or scrambled eggs. We surely recommend it.

We had a wonderful experience at Barra Guest House. The owners gave great recommendations about what to do in Salvador, and helped us tremendously with logistical problems including arranging travel to Mangue Seco and contacting a US bank about a stopped card. They were extremely kind and knowledgeable, and went way beyond the call of duty. They treated us like old friends rather than customers. I'd recommend this hostel to anyone. Thanks again!!

Nice hostel. Russel is great. Always helps you with questions. Good flexibility-> we had to leave at 6 am to catch a flight even then breakfast was arranged.
Would recommend this hostel for sure!

We valued Russell´s welcome, eggs at breakfast and recommendations for danceshow & restaurants. Staff struggle when Russell is away. Rooms are spotless and spacious and Room 3 is the quietest.

What hotel sits you down for half an hour to sort out the sights? It really is a lovely old renovated mansion with major renovations in character at the end of the year. Fantastic location near the beach, big shopping centre, and restaurants. Russell expat Brit very helpful with helper Snoopy the dog. Lovely hot breakfast. Very clean rooms and free internet very good. Must book in advance.

We really appreciated our stay at the Barra Guest House, it made our trip to Salvador much more enjoyable. The owner, Russell, is very helpful and has been particularly nice to us when we needed it, and the breakfast is simply amazing!! Location is perfect too, 5 minutes from the beach and from the bus that leads to Mercado Modelo, the elevator and Pelourinho. And this is a very safe place, that I would recommend without any reserve!
