This is a great hostel if you want a chill place that's close to the beach. If you are travelling alone, like I was, it may not be the best place to meet people. But everything else was great!

The sweetest woman in the world, Sandra, runs this hostel. She is incredibly kind and does everything she can to try and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. If you need recommendations for food, fun, sites or transport she is always willing to take the time to offer some advice. To illustrate how terrific she is, when my friend was swindled out of a $50 U.S. Bill, she went to the bank and fought for him to be returned his money. She is exactly the kind of contact you would want.

I was given a bed right when I arrived a 7 am which was really nice! The place is quite noisy as the stairwell is like a soundbox. Most of the staff doesn't speak English. They provided pick up from the airport for S./55 (don't know if it is more expensive than a regular taxi but it was convenient after traveling 17 hours!).

Pro: Location is really good, sea view when stepping out of the door, close to all the action in Barranco. Also, the hostel is kept very clean, both the rooms and facilities. Cons: Lacks a real hostel atmosphere as there is no real common area. Staff is friendly but seems somewhat distant. The bathroom in our room was partially open on top which is fine as long as you don't mind hearing your roomates poop. Stay here if you only need a place to sleep, for some socializing go somewhere else.

My husband & I were scheduled to pass through Lima and enjoy the barranco district for a few days. We love this hostel so much we ended up staying 3 weeks! Clean hostel, wonderful staff, good lounging area all in a gorgeous district in Lima.It felt like home after our first few days of staying there & we decided to spend our Christmas and New Years at the hostel with them as well. The owners are unbelievably kind & became some great friends of ours. Highly recommend to anyone staying in Lima!

Really nice and welcoming hostel. We were there one night on a Tuesday, not a party hostel, but that fitted us perfect. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Ordered taxi for us to be there in the morning, and woke up to tell us that the taxi was there. Super kitchen facilities and comfy beds. Really clean everywhere.

Really friendly staff, hostel is in a great location close to the bars & restaurants but still a quiet hostel. Basic breakfast included.

In the barranco district, very quiet. We had prearranged an airport pickup via email, and it never showed, frustrating way to start off. They were quick to fix the lack of hot water, and the breakfast was basic but good. Heard they are about to change ownership, not sure if that's true.

Good location. Close to all the restaurants, bars, and coffee shops in Baranco. Can get a bit noisy at night with all the traffic. Great staff. Very friendly.

This was my first night in Peru, and the staff made me feel right at home. They were very efficient and patient when my plane kept getting delayed and the taxi they had waiting kept having to reschedule. Very helpful with arranging tours and showing you a map of the city and circling main points. So happy to have stayed.

I loved everything about Hostal Barranco. Location, people, and clean facilities. Deysi and Betty were especially helpful with anything we needed. Thank you for having a beautiful, clean, affordable Hostal in an amazing neighborhood of Lima!
