Paid $20 a night for a 5 bed dorm with ensuite - not bad at all! Book through hostelworld though as when we rang up the staff quoted us more expensive prices. Ensuite bathroom not very clean and not sure when they clean it? They didnt for the 3 days we stayed. Great facilities - common room/kitchen/luggage storage. Really good cheap food at the bar and grill next door ($10 meal with a drink) Bus stop just around the corner to get to Coles - only cost $2.70 return.

I stayed for several days and it seemed everyone who stayed was only there for one night before and after their Whitsundays. I would have liked more group activities and ways to meet new people as I was travelling alone and each time the only people put in my room were couples, making it harder to make friends.

All the hostels in airlie beach are within a few hundred metres of each other along the water front, so all good location. The hostel was fine, but the kitchen was pretty disgusting and didn't have many facilities.

Base Airlie what a beautiful hostel smack bang in the middle of paradise. Who would have know a little treasure here in the beautiful Whitsundays. Hostel was perfect for a solo traveller rooms where of high standard clean and tidy. Great swimming pool and BBQ area if you wanted to get away from it all in the lovely tropical gardens. Big thanks to the Tour desk who helped booked my East coats trip too.

Funny, friendly staff & rooms are set back from the bar so nice and quiet. Also huge swimming pool and sun louges. The best place I have stayed on the east coast so far.

Great Value for money for what you get, large room for 4 people with own ensuite & fridge. Staff were really friendly & helpful although it was a little busy. Theres some nice deck chairs around the large pool to just chill and read a book or the bar is open for lunch to get a cheap meal that comes with a pint. One of the nicest places i've stayed at in Oz.

The Base Airlie Beach Resort is a really great place to stay. The rooms are big and clean, the kitchen is clean too and the location is really great. Unfortunately the kitchen is not well equiped with cuterly and dishes.

Staff was not very attentive and the kitchen was horrible. Not enough cutlery and only a single fridge which was jam-packed all the time. Rooms are average but with own bathroom. There´s now supermarked around except for a very small, expensive one. If you want to go tho Woolworths, you have to catch the bus (expensive). There´s no free Internet but you can go to Backpackers World Travel which is just across the street and use their Wi-Fi

We stayed only one night but it was a very nice place, a little more expensive than other hostels but also nicer. Well organized and nice facilities! Little bungalow houses, nice outside pool (though the airlie beach lagoon is nicer), clean kitchen! And vouchers for free drinks in next door bar.
