Booked 4 bed dorm online. When I checked in they said they didn't have any 4 bed dorms available. They switched me to an 8 bed dorm. I payed, then went to look at it. There were people's things everywhere and only one sad looking top bunk free - no lockers. Went back to desk. Asked for a refund. No refund given. Lost over 200 dollars and Stayed somewhere else. If you like toga parties and no refunds then you might like this hostel.

El hostel esta bueno, pero muy impersonal, hay tanta gente q no es tan facil de q se genere esas juntadas entre todos los del hostel..

This huge place makes you realise what an industrie backpacking really is. Good facilities, a clean bed and friendly staff in the middle of the city centre makes it a good spot to spend the night though.

Worst accomodation experience I've ever had - not really the fault of staff, more due to state of repair of things. Door didn't lock, so an extra person snuck in. Ended up 9 people in the 8-person dorm. Caused conflict. When someone went to get hotel security, 1 person suddenly took off (we assume they were the imposter) freeing up a bed. I slept in that bed and woke in the morning to find blood on the sheets (theirs not mine). Yuck! Toilet was broken. Shower disgusting. Bad night! Never again

Everything was great, but on the last nights stay they wanted me to change rooms!? Wasn't pleased with that, after much deliberation I got to stay. Dont know why that happened, But to move all your belongings- pack then unpack for one more night is ridiculous! Aside from that incident it was good. The 10th floor even has a little private lounge, which is great to have some chill time in.

A lot of things were boken, a watertap in de girlsbathroom, an elevator, the dryer didnt work proper.

The only negative comments I would make about the hostel is that the showers could do with a revamp and if you want to use the lifts, be prepared to wait a while. If you don't want to wait you can use tge stairs which are thriugh the doors next to the lifts. Other than that the hostel was ok.

At first the hostel seemed very intimidating as its so huge but after a while you get uses to it. Probably more difficult to meet new people because the place is so large. I booked for 1 night but ended up staying for 5 nights Great location and facilities.

Good hostel with a perfect location in the center of Auckland, close to everything. Sleeping there was good, staff was friendly. Kitchen bit tiny with lots of people.

Convenient central location, excellent for late night arrivals or departures. Travel advice staff were friendly and helpful but provided inconsistent and incomplete information.

Thought the hostel was great, apart from the music blasting from the club two doors down. If you're not planning on heading to the club, or not a heavy sleeper, ask for a room away from it.

Lockers under beds, but there were signs around that a thief was operating within the hostel. Our room had nasty stained /ripped carpeting. Stuffy in room due to no AC, but with window open it was quite loud until Globe bar shut down in the wee hours. Overall this place is average. We also stayed at Nomads Auckland and really enjoyed it there.

Location is very good, as it is directly on Queen Street. It's a very big backpacker with big kitchen, launch and computers etc. Wifi is available but not for free. Bathrooms and showers weren't very clean. If you are unlucky you get a room without windows... but even if you have winodws, you cant open them - all over the place is air condition, which i dont like too much - i prefer to open a window.

This is my eleventh time in New Zealand and always at ACB Base. It is my favourite hostel in Auckland. I suggest to make some rebuilding in the shower rooms . Then is perfect. Thank you and see you next year.

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. It was very clean, they changed sheets quite often and also towels. There was always someone in the kitchen keeping it clean too, and it wasn't noisy at all. The only thing that to go to reception you have to get the lift and there is no free wifi, but its fine. I would definetly recommend this hostel.

really great hostel and great location, only issue i had was firstly being put in a room that was quite far away from the main building so internet didnt work there but once i told reception they changed my room with no extra charge so was happy with the service there. will def be going back. also $5 taxi to the airport is such a bargain!!

What can u say nice about a place that tells you upon arrival that your 1:00 am arrival means a 1 pm check in. So I got to stay the night on the streets after arriving in Nz from Australia. Not only that but even though I was leaving at 7:40 am I couldn't cancel and was charged for a night I never used, so much for 24 hour reception. I will never spend a dime at one of these hostels ever again. No room at all because of the red hot chile peppers concert.

It's always hard to say something after staying in a place for only 2 days... but I can say as a traveller that I found everything I needed, wanted, and expected. However in terms of character and atmosphere I felt like being in a travel factory. With travel agent, job-shop, bar and "cafe" on the spot there is little left to explore by yourself. The hostel is a big business and they just want to sell their products... not saying it's bad but not the kind of environment I like to have a rest in.

Very Nice staff and people in the hostel but it had the dirtiest showers out of any hostel I have stayed in
