Having looked around the communal areas of this hostel on a previous visit I was confident enough to make a booking for Base, however I wished I hadn't. We had 2-3 fire alarms each night we stayed (3). The bathrooms were so dated and tiny and a trickle came out the shower. To get to the kitchen/lounge after 7pm we had to walk through the rowdy bar which was several inches deep in sand. The noise until the early hours was pretty loud, which didn't help as many of us had to get up at 6.30am.

I've stayed at countless backpackers accross the globe and this is in my top 3 for sure. Worth the extra coupla bucks it costs.
