showers were always dirty, and barley any hot water

The voluntees where really nice and I've heard that they organize awesome 2 day hikes to the volcanos. Mattresses are not the best but all right for a night or 2. You can't use the kitchen though! Breakfast is simple eggs and beans but tasty.

If you are in the 6 person dorm, DO NOT expect to sleep. The beds were literally shaking from the sound of the chicken buses driving by right next to the window. It sounded like a jet plane was flying by. The floor inside was disgusting and the rooftop terrace was absolutely filthy. Instead of giving me a blanket, they give me 5 paper thin sheets, and I was freezing. The place has a very boring vibe. I have stayed in many hostels, and this was one of the worst value for money I have ever seen.

Base camp is a great place to stay prior to one of their early morning hikes. It's generally nice and quiet at night which is good to sleep, but not as good if you are looking to hang out. Never got the breakfast in the morning cause I was leaving too early. Hot showers were hot or miss, but all together it was a great hostel.

Don't book the six dorm room as getting to the top is a chore. There are three beds stacked on top of each other. Also, it's facing the street and you'll be waken up by the chicken buses' rumbling and constant stream at 5 AM every morning. Aside from that, there's a nice entertainment room with Netflix and the rooftop terrace is nice when not pestered by mosquitoes.

Really friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere! The rooms were fine although the foam matresses were not great for my back! No access to the kitchen is a bit of a pain for a backpacker, but there is an amazing taco place right across the road.

We thought the staff were a little abrupt with us upon arrival, however they were helpful with directions and some information. The hostel was also good to use to book tours but the general atmosphere was quiet. The roof top and the Netflix was great.

I wouldn't stay there again just for the fact that they ask to keep your passports. Also, if you want to trade USD to GTQ you need your passport, so yu wont be able to exchange currency if you stay at this hotel. Also, they don't sell liquor and they don't allow outside liquor. This is ridiculous but the worst part is that they didn't put that in their website, so I bought a bottle before getting there just to find out that I couldn't drink it.

Nice chilled environment, not too in your face with the party side of things like some other hostels in the town, but at the same time fun!

this is a great place if you want to be able to relax. it is not a crazy party hostel so you can get some sleep if you want, but everyone is still always out and hanging out.

Great place to hang out and chill! I stayed there a few times during my travels in Guatemala! They have great wifi, big tv with Netflix, ping pong table and board games ! Bonuses where hot showers, an amazing cooked breakfast, free filtered water and great staff! I joined in on a couple of great bike tours as well!!

Staff are lovely, breakfast is good, security is very good, and it's a nice bonus to have the ping pong table and free netflix for chill time.

Everything was great, my only complaint is that the staff are all volunteers. While they were all super friendly and helpful they did not know enough about Antigua to give any advise on how to get around and answer some of the questions we had. However they were all extremely friendly and nice so we didn't mind having to figure it out ourselves/
